100 Steps To Eternity: The Earth's Geography

Scientists believe that the earth was once one huge landmass, which they refer to as Pangaea. There is Biblical reference to support this claim in that the earth was not divided until the days of Peleg (Genesis 10:25), and further evident by the fact that up until that time, the earth also spoke only one language.

Scientists also believe that the ancient continents moved away from each other only to collide again at some other location. This, too, allegorically describes the breaking up of the nations and the war and commotion between them that has existed throughout the entire history of the earth.

Interestingly, science also claims that the first impact occurred as North America and Europe collided against each other, ultimately causing the formation of the northern Appalachian Mountains. In retrospect, the breaking away of the early pioneers from Europe to North America was likewise a tremendous bang-up between the two countries, resulting in many new cities, prophetically referred to throughout the scriptures as "mountains." This is more than simple coincidence. There is undoubtedly a tremendous world history lesson - past, present and future - summarized in the creation and formation of the physical earth itself. One day we will see it clearly.

Deuteronomy 32:8

When the Most High

divided to the nations their inheritance, when he separated the sons of Adam, he set the bounds of the people according to the number of the children of Israel.

The bounds of the entire globe were set at that time, yet the children of Israel did not even enter the picture for another seven generations from the time the earth was divided in the days of Peleg. The entire earth has been pre-sectioned since that time in accordance with the final division of the earth during the millennial reign of Christ when the entire earth will be distributed among the twelve tribes of Israel.

“According to their number” was likewise the method used to divide the tiny Promised Land among the twelve tribes when they originally conquered the seven heathen nations.

Numbers 26:54

To many thou shalt give the more inheritance, and to few thou shalt give the less inheritance.

This was the instruction of land distribution given to Joshua as the children of Israel originally entered the Promised Land. The territorial land division in the kingdom is detailed in Ezekiel 48, regarding the allocation of Israel’s governing rule during the future thousand-year Sabbath.

The land of Israel today is sectioned into 144 separate territories, just as in the kingdom the entire earth will be segmented into 144,000

territories. The twelve tribes of Israel will reign over the entire earth.

God knew the number of those who would ultimately accept his Son, even before the earth was made. He divided the seven continents for the purpose of land distribution in the kingdom. These seven continents are the seven nations Israel will ultimately conquer with the gospel of Christ before the end comes.

Hebrews 4:3

…The works were finished from the foundation of the world.

God’s entire plan has been determined and orchestrated since that time. The itemized contract has been given to us, first drafted up by way of the Old Covenant. Each detail of the contract was explicitly described and explained by the carpenter’s Son, and the final, written contract, the Bible, has been drawn up and delivered in virtually every nation, in every language.
