What is stress? A condition in which the organism is subjected to unfavorable condition which results in some alteration in normal physical functioning. Often times short-term stress can be overcome, while long-term stress can reduce resistance to diseases and parasites, slow down the self-healing processes as well as reduce one’s life-span. There are different kinds of stresses that we undergo, stresses such as mental, physical and emotional. Emotional stress can be defined as the feeling of being overwhelmed by the tasks of life, losing control or worrying about the future. Too much stress can have adverse effects on the body and mind. Having no stress can also give one an unexciting life
A way of living longer, healthier and happier is through exercising. You do not have to go to the gym to exercise this can be done within the
house which could last for a couple of minutes every day. When this is done regularly, you become used to it. This regular exercise thus makes the bones strong as well as making the muscle keep its elasticity. In case you have insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), it may be that you worry too much, so before you go to bed try as much as possible to get your worries off of your mind, or in my own case if I change my environment may be there was a cause for me to change my room for what ever reason, it affects my sleep. Relaxing is known to help reduce stress. You can learn to relax by reading a good book. Reading will help take your mind of daily stressors. Stretch out your muscles, Listen to some good music. Try as much as possible to eat a well balanced diet which should comprise of carbohydrate, fats and oil, protein, vitamins,
minerals and water. Your eating habit does have a role to play in your living a longer, healthier and happier life. To summarize all that I have said, for you to really live a longer, healthier and happier life devoid of stress, you must learn to perform some exercises, try to get enough sleep, learn to relax and also eat balanced diet. If all these is done you are bound to experience a stress free live which would also result in your having to live a longer, healthier and happier life.
