Use the R.I.C.E. formula for treating minor exercise related injuries. Rest (take a break from exercise), Ice (ice the affected area to reduce pain and swelling), Compress (compress the injury with a stretch bandage-not too tight) and Elevate (if possible, keep the injured limb above the level of the heart).
