The heavy use of alcohol (more than two drinks a day for a man; one for a woman), especially when used by cigarette smokers or smokeless tobacco users, increases the risk of mouth, throat, esophagus, and liver cancer. Two drinks a week has been shown to increase the risk of breast cancer for some women.
