Minimizing the amount of stress that builds up is crucial to keeping a clear and sharp mind. If you want to easily cope with any challenges you encounter during the day, try these three quick and easy ways to relieve your tension and maximize your productivity:
1. Get up, move around and stretch.
Getting your blood pumping and your muscles flexing is one of the best ways to relieve stress. Try slowly rotating and tilting your head a couple times; this will increase blood flow to your brain. Another great stretch is to extend your arms and clasp your hands above your head. Then lean towards all sides. Doesn’t that feel fantastic? You can relieve a lot of stress that was building up in your shoulders if you do this.
2. Don’t underestimate the power of controlled breathing.
Close your eyes, and take several deep, slow breaths. Putting this pause in your seemingly unending work will help you control your thoughts, and help you focus. When you breath, place your hands behind your head and elbows above your shoulders; this will maximize your lung capacity.
Think of all that nourishing, freshly oxygenated blood flowing to your body!
3. Drink plenty of water.
Keep a bottle nearby everywhere you go, and you’ll begin to appreciate the overall refreshing effect it has. Drinking water helps prevent dehydration headaches from happening. Hangovers are essentially the same as these migraines; try to make a habit of drinking at least a bottle of water from the time you started soaking up booze to the time you go to bed.
H2O also helps detoxify yourself; this mean it flushes out poisons, making it easier for your body to maintain a healthy state. You might even lose a fewpounds!
These three points seem elementary, but most people usually forget to do them; we wait until we are about to burst from frustration and anxiety! By then, it is too late. Therefore, consciously take breaks during the day, and perform these simple routines; you’ll be wondering where your stress has gone in no time!
