Are You Healthy? 14 Questions to Help You Decide

by Laura Bockbrader

If someone were to ask if you considered yourself to be relatively healthy, what would your response be? What is your definition of ‘health’? Take the following quiz and find out what it REALLY means to be leading a life toward optimal health and fitness.

1. When you wake up in the morning do you typically:

  • Awaken without the alarm, wide awake, well rested, full of energy, and ready to tackle the world!
  • Feel like you need about two more hours of sleep, a large cup of coffee with a double shot of espresso, and a Shiatsu massage.
  • Feel like you want to throw the alarm clock across the room, curl up under the covers, and sleep until the weekend arrives, achy, stuffed nose, and foggy brained.

2. Do you consider yourself to be:

  • anxious
  • stressed
  • depressed
  • all of the abov
  • relatively easy going and happy most of the time

3. How many prescription medications are you taking?

  • none
  • one
  • two or more

4. How many days a week do you exercise?

5. How many days a week do you consume fast food?

6. How much water do you consume in one day?

7. How much soda do you consume in one day?

8. How many servings of vegetables do you get in one day?

9. How many servings of protein do you consume in one day?

10. How many products do you have in your cupboards or refrigerator that list ‘high fructose corn syrup’, ‘corn syrup’, ‘enriched flour’, or ‘partially hydrogenated’ oil in the ingredients?

11. How many processed foods do you consume in one day?

12. When is the last time you laughed until your stomach hurt?

13. How long ago was your last ‘real’ vacation (not work related)?

14. If someone were to guarantee you that you would live to be 120 years old, would you:

  • Be ecstatic and looking forward to seeing your great grandchildren get married.
  • Wonder why anyone in their right mind would want to stay on this earth that long.
  • Not be able to bear the thought of feeling this bad for that many years.

While this quiz may not have made you feel very good about your responses, hopefully it made you truly think about what being ‘healthy’ means to you.

In his book, Natural Cures “They” Don’t Want You To Know About, Kevin Trudeau defines his ideal scenario for ‘health’ as follows: “Waking up in the morning full of energy and vitality, content, and feeling absolutely great.”

Does this describe you?
