EPO for hormonal imbalance

by Anonymous

Question : I JUST got married a year ago and am planning to conceive but my periods are irregular. I consulted a specialist recently and she told me I have hormonal imbalance. How can I rectify this?

Answer : REFINED sugars, chemicals, pesticides, dyes, heavy metal toxicity and stress all play a part in female hormone imbalances. This is true whether it is disturbing menopausal symptoms, PMS or dysmenorrhea (irregular menses). For example, in times of stress the body will release excessive amounts of stress hormones such as epinephrine, norepinephrine and cortisol. This excess of cortisol interferes with the production of vital hormones, such as progesterone and estrogen.

This can result in menstrual cycle irregularity, missed periods, worsening pre-menstrual syndrome (PMS) and more severe menopausal changes, including hot flushes and night sweats.

You may try supplementing your diet with evening primrose oil. It contains omega-6 essential fatty acids that can help regulate the hormones, thus alleviating PMS, irregular periods or symptoms of menopause. Scientificstudies show that regular intake of omega-6 EFA which delivers 12-14 pre cent of gamma linolenic acid can help ease problems relating to women’s menstrual cycle.

You should include more fruits and vegetables in your diet. Try to avoid saturated fats and refined carbohydrates. Since stress is one of the factors that trigger hormone imbalance, you should manage your stress wisely by using relaxation techniques such as yoga and meditation.
