| Customer Reviews: Great daily stretches October 13, 2008 "Sabrina" (MERCEDES, TEXAS United States) I use these stretches daily whether I exercise or not. They are gentle, effective and relaxing. I only wish there were more stretches especially for the shoulders and back. The hip stretches are great.
Stretches and concepts that work. August 7, 2008 Audrey T (Philadelphia, PA) Finally a common sense approach to streching. This book, simply put, is the way nature intended use to move and stretch. The explinations and illustration are easy to read and apply. In addition to increasing flexability, the stretches and moves provided also aide with balance. I would strongly reccommend this book. It will benefit everyone regardless of their fitness level or age. I would also reccommend this book to professionals in the therapy and fitness fields as these strecthes would greatly benefit your clients/patiens/athletes.
Not satisfied April 14, 2008 Pauli Jr (Michigan) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was impressed with some parts of this and another book by Bookspan available on the internet. I thought that the rest of the book must be at least as good, well... I was deeply disappointed. There is some good advice, but that's about all. Whatever was freely available was the best part...
Very enlightening! January 12, 2008 C. Barnes 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
This book by Jolie Bookspan, as well as other books of hers that I have, espouse a very different way of looking at how our bodies are meant to move and need to be exercised. I initially found information about her ideas online and sought out sources for her books. She has a very impressive background from which she has gained all of this information. She instructs athletes, military people, and martial arts performers as well. This stretching book, like all of her other books, has a very practical and health-building approach. She stresses the need to stretch as part of our everyday life with drawings that are easy to understand. She points out how some accepted methods or positions used in stretching do more harm than good and then offers the better way to do it. Being someone who has always been a bit tight and has had pain due to stress injury due to it, this book has been an invaluable resource. I highly recommend it and all books by Jolie Bookspan.

Jolie Bookspan gives the advise you wish your Doctor or PT had given you. I have seen every specialist in Seattle, and wish that for Christmas, someone would buy them each this book---for their patient's sake.
