Product Description
Denise found herself on a drastically downward slope of life. Her nineteen-year career, as a probation officer, posed new risks. Denise's seventeen-year marriage began to crumble. Then, she suffered a debilitating injury on-the-job. Circumstances couldn't possibly get any worse for her, could they?

"Probation officer shot," said Mom, to the 911 operator. The ambulance rushed her to the hospital in critical condition. Why would anyone do this to her? As she tried to answer that question, her survival would be a tightrope walk on the edge of sanity.

Denise Smith's memoir, Back from Sanity's Edge, gives a brief look into the mental agony she suffered during her journey to recovery. Her tenacious grip on her faith in God, gave her the perseverance to return from sanity's edge. Denise shares her story here as an inspiration to others who suffer from life's troubles.

Discover how God teaches Denise the following lessons:

  • What she does (vocation) is not who she is reinvent herself at anytime on God is important to overcome troublesy is hard work.

5 out of 5 stars Moving   March 20, 2005
Back from Sanity's Edge, Denise Smith's gripping autobiography is inspiring and encouraging. I was moved to tears when I read how this woman of God gracefully faced challenge after challenge - even looking down the barrel of a gun and being shot five times at point blank range. This book is a must read, especially for any woman who feels she can't take life's challenges another day.

5 out of 5 stars Sane or insane, only God knows   October 8, 2004

Denise A. Smith was pushed over the edge and found a way to climb back up and over. If you thought you knew what going crazy was, Ms. Smith fills you in on the real deal about being sane. I was moved and inspired by the tests she was put through to survive in a world that has no soul. I highly recommend it to all those who think they have seen the trials and tribulations of living because you have not lived until you live the life of Denise A. Smith. The cover on her book says it all. You will find that "Trusting God Through the Pain" at the intersection of Main and Church Streets is all that will get you past "hell" on earth.
