Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
A brilliant parody of the children's classic Goodnight Moon, built around the coming end of the worst presidency ever.

Goodnight Bush: An Unauthorized Parody is a hilarious and poignant visual requiem for the Bush administration. In it we see a childlike George W. Bush tucked safely away in the confines of his own room with all of the toys he's willfully destroyed, abused, or defaced. Complete with a quiet Dick Cheney whispering "hush," this bedtime story lets us finally say goodnight to the disaster that was the last eight years.

4 out of 5 stars Goodnight Marvin K.   December 27, 2008

It is said that Dr Suess wrote Marvin K. Mooney Will You Please Go Now! about Richard M. Nixon. It is a tribute to Suess that he could constrain his political fury within the nonsensical rhymes of an enduring children's book.

Here there is no attempt to lay the message "between the lines" as the Peter Paul & Mary suggested in I Dig Rock And Roll Music (Remastered LP Version). So what we have is the kind of heavy handed political parody that Larry might have read to Dharma every night, if only W. had been around the White House instead of defending the Texas-Oklahoma border in a real flight suit.

But the book, in these final days, is both cute and pointed. Perhaps in ten years or so when we have put this "long national nightmare" behind us the book will gather dust on our shelves. Until then it reminds us of lost innocence. Not the lost innocence of childhood but of an American nation.

5 out of 5 stars A work of parodical genius   December 24, 2008

Wickedly insightful and delicious piece of parody. If you love "Goodnight Moon" and feel, well, less loving of the past eight years of the executive branch, then this is the book for you. Illustrated perfectly with new visual tidbits waiting to be identified even after the tenth reading, the book is perfect for young and old alike. Everyone should read this book to be reminded of why we need to end this dark period in American politics...

My Republican friends hate this book. The Dems and Indies love it. I think it is a classic satire. Love it. Clever

This book is just great. If you read through it quickly, there is something new to see each time. Otherwise, it could take hours to read, because there are so many little things to see and miss. Very clever, very funny.

I found this book in the library so I took a quick read. I found it an amusing account of someone who has really crippled this nation. Many of the failed policies of Dick Cheney and Bush were covered; if they would have mentioned more the, the book would have been huge.

With all of the trouble that this country now faces as we approach the start of a new administration, this book is a little bit of humor to brighten your day.
