I went to a chiropractor who did a thorough exam. he said I was "toxic" and acidic. when I came home I went on amazon and typed in pH, and Dr. Cooks book came up. so, I bought it. let me tell you, this woman knows her stuff! within a few days I was able to balance my pH by changing a few simple things in my diet. I am never hungry and am losing weight!! WOW, am I glad I got this info. I just ordered her other book, "The 4-week detox".
Why doesn't the rest of America know this stuff?

First book review - I just happened to come across this book while doing some research on body acidity and diet (I had a weird week, wasn't feeling well and I got a fever blister) I got the book the same day and started doing the suggestions on balancing my PH that night and the full-blown diet changes the next day. It's been three weeks and I feel great and I never thought it would be possible for me to make this kind of diet change commitment but I don't feel deprived, I have more energy and I'm sleeping better. Granted the first part of the book was a little heavy and I actually didn't read all of the information because I wanted to understand more of the PH Balance stuff. But I understand some people wil find the info helpful. I am already pretty healthy but I think this book just took me to the next level of staying healthy and feeling great. This is an excellent book on many common sense holistic levels. The author did an excellent research job and wrote in a manner in which most can understand. I haven't tried any of the interesting recipes she shares at the end of the book although I'm looking forward to trying them. The author promotes a vegan diet yet most carnivores can still get a lot out of this book to help live a healthier life.

Easy to read and when you are reading it everything just makes sense. I have started to change the way I eat & I now drink anywhere from 2-4 liters of lemon water a day and I have tons more energy. I have also lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks and I have been somewhat lazy so have only worked out 1 of those weeks.

This is a fast and easy read! Very helpful! My pH was 5.5 when I started and I've remained a healthy 7.0 since following her guidance! Bravo!
