Product Description
Women long for the kind of beauty and health that can only come with clean cells. Yet many women find detox plans difficult to follow and are disappointed with the results. In her ten years of working privately with celebrity clients at leading Manhattan spas, Natalia Rose has discovered that traditional detox plans don't work for adult women because their microbial balance is completely out of whack. In fact, doing the wrong kind of detox can make their symptoms even worse! Here is the solution. Rose has formulated a very specific detox prescription for women that is easy to follow and gentle on the system, yet yields fantastic results that are both immediate and lasting. In Detox for Women, she brings you her powerful step-by-step plan that will help you shed weight, look years younger, and radiate energy in only 28 days. Like Rose's celebrity clients, you will love this plan! Rose steers readers away from traditional detox fare like fruit and nuts and cautions against eating too much raw food too soon. And while many detox programs do not allow you to eat at all, during the next 28 days you will enjoy - Cooked foods that are easy to digest
- Treats like dark chocolate and wine
- Recipes that hark back to favorite foods like pumpkin pie and guacamole
- Sunshine for Breakfast! Rose's own elixir for health and beauty
- Great restaurants—this plan can even be tailored for eating out!
You will also luxuriate in relaxing baths, get plenty of fresh air, and enjoy meals that are simple to prepare, beautiful to look at, and delicious to eat. Like Rose's clients, you will probably also find that this way of living is so easy and rewarding that you will even want to make permanent changes after the 28 days are over. With inspiring stories from real women, Natalia Rose doesn't just give you a detox prescription but also real hope for the kind of transformation you have always wanted.

What a Great Lifestyle! November 12, 2009 J. M. Falls (Memphis, TN USA) This book was recommended to me by my sister. It has totally changed everything in her life-she is lean, beautiful, energetic,
and happier than ever. Can't wait to start this, too! I am reading
it first because that's what the author says to do before you start.
A Few Nice Salad Recipes November 4, 2009 ELF (Chapel Hill, NC USA) I've noticed that some of the most "helpful" reviews were written by reviewers who read the book, but had not yet started the diet. I enjoyed the first 2 days of this diet, then began to have vivid, strange dreams and after 4 days got a head-ache after going for a 20 minute walk. I also found that I needed to sleep several hours more per day (on top of my usual 7.5), and I had the sensation of my body feeling like it was slowing down, and not in a good way. I explained my experience to a few different physicians (friends and/or professional physicians) and all stated that this diet could be very unhealthy for a lot of people; in fact, two said it could be dangerous. They all recommended no more than a few days of fasting (which is what this diet amounted to, for me), in fact, preferably no more than 2 days at a time. I'm sure some people will be fine on this 30 day detox/fast, but for me it just didn't work. I lost 5 pounds in less than a week on this diet, but because I could not function on it, I had to stop. The "green lemonade" did not taste good at all, despite Natalia's endorsement, and it did not provide me with the energy I needed for the morning. Also, there is no evidence that long-term (30 day) juicing is healthier than blending fruits and vegetables. I think the salad recipes are fantastic, and I like her emphasis on healthy foods (this does not include "juicing," but more salads and fish). I imagine that Natalia does well when working with people on an individual basis, when she is able to be aware of her client's individual energy levels and reactions, and can adjust her recommendations for each person. This 30 day diet as written is not a diet for everyone. I think more caution about this would be helpful in her book.
Love it!! October 18, 2009 Angie B. (charlotte, NC) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I've tried all kinds of diet out there, water fasting, master cleanse, juice fast, superfood, 100% Raw, etc.. nothing works. And they were all very difficult and painful to do.
Plus I feel terrible after. This diet is so easy to follow and it works for me. I have candidiasis in my system and always have pimples, terrible skin, constipated, allergies, tired all the time.
I'm on it for over a month now and I see and feel the improvements! I would recommend this book to any ladies out there. I lost weight even though I don't need to.
I don't need to sleep as much and can get up and go even when I didn't sleep till midnight. no more breaking out, still waiting for all my acne scars to heel, but people complimented me that I have beautiful skin already just after 3 weeks! She's what I've been looking for all along. No sugar at all is difficult but manageable. It's been a month now, but I'm afraid to eat anything with sugar. I'm afraid of feeling like what I've used to so I'll keep going with this diet as long as I can. Holidays are coming up, but I'll do my best to stay on it.
The Detox Works October 18, 2009 Lynn (Chicago Illinois) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great book. I gave this book to my daughter for her birthday after
ordering it on Amazon.com.
She and a friend are following the 4 week detox program and said it is working out great. They are feeling healthy and also love the recipes inside. It is a very healthy way of detoxing without pills. It is all natural. They also are very happy with their weight loss. I recommend this book to all you out there who like to keep
healthy and fit.
Ambivalence October 14, 2009 Susie Cue (New York) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I'm giving this book three stars b/c I really want to believe that it will help me. I haven't started the program yet, but I read it cover to cover and I have some issues.
First, as another reviewer said, there is no sound medical information provided in this book. It merely appeals to the emotions of desperate people (I am one of these people!). There is not a single reference to another source (RD or MD). She makes some amazing claims that are contradictory to current medical knowledge (e.g., don't eat breakfast, eat two meals a day, whole grains are just as bad as refined flour). I think it is very arrogant of her to write about medical and psychological problems without any experience in these fields. Example: Her discussion of eating disorders is all wrong. She has clearly never picked up a REAL book about eating disorders otherwise she would know that eating disorders are not about food. You can't "cure" an eating disorder with detox; you make it worse. This is why other detox books have disclaimers stating that if you have a history of eating disorders that you not partake in detox.
Second, this book was clearly not written with money struggling people in mind. She talks about detox from a position of privilege. The plan requires the purchase of a juicer (at least 150$) or access to an organic juice bar. Colonics are recommended for best results. A rebounder would be ideal for exercise. This information would be more helpful if she provided other options for these expensive aspects of the program.
Lastly, this is not a detox diet. It is a lifelong diet. The initial 28 days ARE detox, but you are expected to remain on this diet for life. Yea right. I'm not eating salads for my two allowed meals of the day for the rest of my life. I also don't believe that this detox diet is applicable to dining out. "Yes waiter, I'll have the Greek salad with an avocado and a lemon on the side. Let me get my Stevia out of my purse." Could you imagine?! And going to visit family on holidays? Would you bring your own meal? Do you expect them to cook this stuff for you? That's just rude and selfish.
The book isn't all bad. It was very engaging and easy to read (I read the whole thing in a few hours). I think that for a detox diet, it won't be all that bad. I can manage the blandness for 28 days if it means that I will feel better, and that's a risk I am still, after all this complaining, willing to take.
