Very Good/Useful Information! November 10, 2009 J. Delgado (Beautiful Oregon) Like so many I've been on this diet and that diet. Getting really good information that is usable and friendly to the frustrated dieter is always a tough deal. Wendy knows, Wendy understands the dilemma. Read her first one, "Crack..." and then this one. The diet, the "lifestyle" is pretty easy to do when you understand what happens with what you eat and how your body uses and stores what you eat. I personally realized that what I put in my mouth is very important if I want to be around for and with my grand kids. What's your goal and what's your purpose for losing weight? Decide and then take your life more seriously. Good Luck!
Good book November 5, 2009 Norma Johnson (Enumclaw, WA) The book is good. The concept makes total sense and when followed it has almost immediate results. The problem is is pretty complicated and requires someone with a lot of planning time to have the right foods on hand, the shopping, the cooking, finding the right mix for protein drink, etc. So it would work well for someone with that kind of time. I stopped after week two...just don't have the time. The concept of this makes so much sense though, although I'm not sure if you exercised daily as indicated in the book and stuck to any low portion diet you'd lose anyway.
Great used copy, fast shipping too! November 4, 2009 Linda M. Westfeldt (Liberty Hill, TX) 0 out of 2 found this review helpful
I was quite pleased with this transaction, as the book was in great condition and was shipped quickly. No problem at all!
Not so simple November 3, 2009 D. johnson This book has lots of great ideas for weight loss and watching what you eat, BUT ultimately it is missing a lot of key points. The books says that it is complete without the first book. I don't think it is. What is the code? It seems like this book tells you what to eat when. What do you do after the first 8 weeks and your goal weight has not been reached? What are the real "keys" to cracking the code? Guidelines need to be spelled out more clearly. I feel like I've been following a "diet" without real guidelines.
You are unique--so create your own customized weight-loss plan September 5, 2009 Joanna Daneman (Middletown, DE USA) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I once knew a fitness coach and bodybuilder who would help his clients tweak their diet for maximum fat loss (for competition) and who knew that each person had a different response to foods and exercise. Once, one of his clients was stalled on a fat-loss plateau, and she actually had to ADD foods (fat, in particular) to continue to lose weight.
This book has a series of questions to determine what sort of "loser" you are (do you need more protein? More carbs? ) Then you tailor your own meal plan and exercise to suit your body type and test it out. Are you losing?
The book has many pages to fill in your own meal plan according to your personal metabolic needs. The guidelines are set up for setting up the plan. So if you found, as I did, that Weight Watchers(tm) worked once, then failed later in life to work even though faithful to the plan, you may be able to "crack your metabolic code" with this book.
The caveat is that you have to stick to your own meal plan and not eat randomly. This may be hard for people on the go.
