Impractical and bland November 13, 2009 S. Schramp (Huntington Beach CA) I read through this book and was hesitant about making anything, but decided to try the 'fettuccine hungry girlfredo', based upon it's claim as the most popular recipe.
The first problem was the requirement for House Foods brand Tofu Shirataki. I didn't have a problem with the specific brand, but the lack of a reasonable substitution. The recipe calls for one package of this brand, or similar noodle, but gives no mention of the portion size of the noodles. Portions are probably an important element of a functional diet cookbook.
As far as taste goes, I've almost always been able to salvage any recipe I've cooked. But upon tasting this bland, lifeless concoction, I tossed it and went out for dinner.
Great October 30, 2009 Felicia Longo I am a Weight Watcher member and this book has some great recipes in it.
It arrived in perfect condition and I have already started making some of the recipes.
Thank you so much for your prompt service.

Best "Go-To" Recipe/Inspiration Book Around !! October 28, 2009 Emily Barnes (Eureka, CA) This is by far--my favorite inspirational recipe/cookbook/"non-diet diet helper"book ever ! If you think "Oh, I don't need another cookbook--"-- let go of that notion right now ! This is like having a friend giving you super ideas for good/sensible/smart/low fat (often non-fat!) creative/delicious,fun eating. It is NOT a tedious 2,000 ingredient cookbook. It is straight, to the point, clever, interesting--even fascinating at times--and it is all about things you CAN make at home--even when you come home bone-tired and not in the mood to make something "healthy"-- !! This will be the greatest investment you've made in a long time--for treating yourself well. This book helped me realize that yes, I could and can have fun while making and eating delicious low fat/high fiber things. I can spoil myself (and others!) with amazing treats--like "Ice CreamLess Banana Splits" -- "Crazy Good Turkey Taco Meatloaf"-- Crab stuffed mushrooms (drool) and "Ooey Gooey Chocoltae Cherry Muffins" !! (to name just a very, very few!) There are tons! This book always brings a smile to my face--I read it all the time--It is not just a cookbook--it is so much more. LOVE IT!!!!!
Good alternatives October 24, 2009 Sewing Nut (Missouri) I enjoyed looking through the book and find it well planned with lots of good information and tips. Have tried several recipes and find they are accurate. Unfortunately many of the products recommended are not available in the midwest so substituted a higher fat product. Promotes a much healthier lifestyle and recipes are easy to follow and instructions are clear.
Most Used Cookbook October 21, 2009 C. Growe (Michigan) I am doing Weight Watchers and was looking for some recipes that fit in with the program. This is the book to get. I have found so many recipes that keep me within my points and taste good too.
