Synopsis
This book is an introduction to magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) for radiologists, physicians, medical students and radiology technologists wishing to understand for themselves the results of MR examination as well as the large amount of literature published on this new technique. No previous knowledge in physics is needed. The basic principles for the interpretation of MR images are developed in clear and instructive terms. The book is divided into five chapters: introduction, tissue, parameters, acquisition parameters, contribution to diagnosis, and practical management of an MR examination. Eight exercises allow the reader to test the knowledge he has acquired. Signal localization and MR artefacts are reviewed in an appendix.
