Fantastic! November 4, 2009 J. Lewis (Minden, Louisiana) I absolutely adored this book! Sophia's journey around the world in search of feeding her body and her spirit is incredibly inspiring. Highly recommended!
The Adventure Cookbook is Excellent! October 26, 2009 J. T. Drew Sophia Brandon's book was both highly entertaining and very instructive. I have tried several of the recipes which are clearly explained and resulted in delicious food. I look forward to sharing this remarkable guide with both family and friends. We should all follow this writer's example for a healthier and more interesting journey through life. jtd
Life Changing October 22, 2009 Southern Girl (Shreveport, LA USA) First of all, I love this book and I recommended it to all my friends and family. The adventures were thrilling and recipes enticing. I actually had an epiphany while reading the book, lounging on a raft in my pool. I was diagnosed with PCOS two years ago and have had difficulty losing weight. I love to cook and I love to eat, just like any other Southern girl and when my doctor told me to go on a "caveman's diet" I thought how am I ever going to give up my "comfort foods" I grew up loving. This book opened my eyes to clean, natural, delicious "comfort food." I prepare a lot of the same dishes just "cleaner." The only other thing I can say...get this book!!
Wander-full! October 4, 2009 A. Gower Brandon writes in a style that is both simple and elegant. Her prose is straightforward and concise when she is explaining the more technical aspects in the cookbook-- the chemistry of cooking, nutritional information, etc.-- and lyrical when she describes the landscapes and the people she meets during her adventure. This book is not only about cooking food that fills and sustains the body, it is about making transformative decisions that fill and sustain the soul.
Great fun October 3, 2009 C. McClure This is a really fun book to read......lots of good sounding recipes. I will keep it near the kitchen to try some of them. More than anything you felt like you were tagging along with the author on her great adventure.
