1 out of 5 stars Too small to read   November 19, 2009
Jenny Bishop (New London, OH USA)
I would love to read this book, but the print is so small that I can't see it. There was no need to make the print so small! I do not need reading glasses. But, for this one, I need a huge magnifying glass. I would never had bought this book had I seen it in person. Too bad. I am sure it is great......

The Intellectual Devotional - Health, the fourth in a series of Intellectual Devotionals by David Kidder and Noah Oppenheim, is a book everyone should have on their bedside coffee table. With 365 entries in seven fields of knowledge, this book is the Tell Me Why book for adults interested in health and wellness. Wonder what causes phlebitis? You'll find out by reading the entry for Tuesday, Day 2, Week 44. Interested in learning more about Asperger's Syndrome ... check out Thursday, Day 4 of Week 32.

The authors, with the assistance of Bruce Young, MD, give us insight on seven categories of health and wellness, one for each day of the week. On Mondays we read a topic related to Children and Adolescents. Tuesdays we learn about diseases and ailments. On Wednesdays we enhance our knowledge of drugs and alternative treatments. Thursdays' topics are on the mind. On Fridays we read about sexuality and reproduction. On Saturdays we receive the gift of knowledge about lifestyle and preventive medicine. And on Sundays we learn about medical milestones. From acupuncture to acne, black and blue marks to brain tumors, and lactose intolerance to lymphoma, you'll find the answers to a multitude of your health-related questions.

Whether you're interested in history, disease, prevention, mental health, alternative medicine or diet, you'll find a multitude of relevant topics within the cover of this fascinating book.
