This book is a guide to biomedical visualization in microscopy, a new method of computer-aided three-dimensional imaging. Aspects of computer graphics, image analysis, specimen preparation, and microscopy technology are combined in this multiauthored work to provide thorough coverage of the most important biomedical applications of visualization. Examples include three-dimensional imaging of serial mechanical sections in light and electron microscopy as well as non-invasive sections in microtomography and confocal microscopy.
