Amazon.com Review This book features 366 essays penned from a woman's perspective. Sample topics include gratitude, harmony, self-nurturing, positive body image, the importance of scented linen closets, and many others. Each essay sports a pithy quote from (surprise!) the likes of Kahlil Gibran. Viewed uncritically, it's hard to argue with Simple Abundance's earnest admonitions to appreciate life, in all its messy imperfect excellence. And the fact that serenity and happiness are each in dreadfully short supply can excuse some of the treacly writing. But Breathnach sometimes lapses into what can only be described as her "Martha Stewart on Prozac" voice, and the results are aggravating to the extreme: "If you've been hesitant to strike up a reciprocal relationship with your guardian angel, don't be." Fans of guardian angels will greet these feel-good essays every morning with the rising sun, a cup of mint tea, and a bluebird chirping on the windowsill, and be happy. Skeptics will prefer their coffee very black.

Bringing Abundance Into Your Life November 29, 2008 California Carol (California) Every evening before going to sleep I read a lovely empowering essay from my little pink book and then listen to a track from my favorite meditation CD,Living The Secret Everyday:My Secret Meditation which is about changing my beliefs and thinking. This ritual has been life-changing...so empowering...that allows me to focus clearly on all the joys and beauty in my life.
Perspective November 12, 2008 J. Swain This was given to me years ago, and it sits on my nightstand for an inspirational note to myself in the evening. I just gave a copy to my niece and she loves it, too. If you're stressing over less money right now, this little book will help you to gain perspective.
Simple Abundance: a Daybook of Comfort and Joy September 29, 2008 Sharyn E. Sacilotto (Quincy, MA) I had planned on purchasing this book that Oprah had recommended several years ago but hadn't. Recently, I was talking to a co-worker that said she has read it for the past few years because she always gets something new out of it. Upon her recommendation, I ordered it on-line. It was in excellent condition and I've already started reading it.

Comfort and Joy April 8, 2008 Jayne P. Bowers (SC USA) I've read and reread this book so many times that I now know exactly where to look for passages about joy, self-acceptance, "homecaring," gratitude, simplicity, and so forth. The author has certainly done her homework in that the book is filled with pithy quotes, interesting information on a variety of topics, and biographical data on some famous and not-so-famous folks. Each day of the year, Sarah Ban Breathnach weaves this information in with her own words of insight and wisdom to create a delightfully uplifting book of inspiration and advice.
