From the supplier: The Swedish system of gymnastics was introduced to the US primarily by Baron Nils Posse. Posse's meeting with philanthropist Mary Hemenway led to a famous 1889 Boston conference, where Posse extolled the virtues of the Swedish system. The system was integrated into the curriculum of the Boston Normal School of Gymnastics. Posse later established the Posse Gymnasium, which had a two-year course on teacher training and medical gymnastics.
