Fat blaster November 14, 2008 Rose White (WA State) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I bought this in VHS format back in early 90's. I worked out using this video for 2 yrs 5 x's per week, I just loved it. I looked so great, not an ounce of fat on my body and I developed great stamina. I did, however, do what Kathy recommended against. I did add little hand held 1 Lb weights which were the sand wrist weights which I sewed into the tube part of a pair of socks and I just held them in my fist. Later I incorporated parts of Kathy's Lower step workout for more of a challenge. Kathy's videos have been my all time favorites starting way back in the eighty's. A little cheesy sometimes, but always professional and well informed. Love Kathy Smith
Good for real beginners November 8, 2008 Rulebreaker (Las Vegas, Nevada) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This video is very basic and I consider it to be a good place to begin if you have never stepped before. You will get a good workout, which is why I am giving it three stars instead of two. But this video is nauseatingly repetitive and boring for me. It is just no fun at all. However, I have been stepping for over half my life. But in all fairness, I do not think that I am the kind of person this video is marketed to considering I have a lot of experience with step. If you are brand new to step aerobics, consider starting here, and consider moving on to other videos once you have mastered this one; otherwise, you may never know just how fun step can be.
Same Great Workout October 13, 2008 Shanley (Yorba Linda, CA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I have used this workout for 14 years. I was thrilled to be able to get it in DVD format, as I had been using a VHS tape all this time. This is a great workout for an intermediate stepper. I orginally purchased this workout in 1994 to help get rid of my pregnancy weight, and it did the trick! I would highly recommend this workout.
Yawn! September 30, 2008 Steppin' Weddle (San Diego, CA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I bought this video sight unseen thinking that just because the instructor has put out other fun videos, this one was guaranteed to be great too. Kathy Smith's 'Aerobox Workout' is one of my favorite all time videos. Alas, I was wrong. This has got to be one of the most repetitive, boring step workouts I've ever done. The only person I'd recommend this workout for is an absolute beginner. I hate videos where I end up watching the clock the whole time - this is one of them. The music is uninspiring and the moves are totally plain Jane. Spend your money on something else unless you're just starting out in step!
Good Workout August 9, 2008 M. Barry (Chicago, IL) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
This DVD provides a good workout for the average stepper. It was not too simple, nor was it too complicated. There were enough different steps to keep me interested and motivated. The only negative about this workout is that Kathy's queuing of steps is inconsistent. Sometimes she ques throughout the routine, other times she expects the viewer to remember the steps with little queuing from her. And on a couple of occasions, the queuing was off by one or two steps. One of the best aspects of this workout is that Kathy also included a small segment on body toning. None of my other step DVD's have that extra little workout.
