Loved it September 5, 2008 I enjoy this exercise and can already feel the difference it has made in only 4 weeks.
Gets your heart pumping!! September 1, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I'll admit that I didn't buy this exercise set for the two reasons that most people have. First of all, I'm not trying to lose weight. Second, this DVD appears to be more dedicated to women in their 40's and I'm about 20 years younger than 40. Having said that, I still think this DVD is great for those who want to stay in shape and destress.
Let's talk about the positives first. In terms of the DVD setup, it's broken down into 4 sections so you can choose to only do mile 1, mile 2, or mile 3, or you can choose to do them all. This is great for when I only have time for one mile.
I guess I should mention that the reason why I bought this DVD in the first place was because exercise is a great way to destress. If I'm having a bad day or an event is coming up that's causing me anxiety, I can simply workout to this DVD for an hour and my stress practically disappears.
This DVD also comes with a belt. This belt is great and it really helps to stretch the muscles. If you don't feel like using the belt, you have the option not to. It ties around your waist which encourages you to tighten your abs and thus work out that area. You then grab the two handles and use them to stretch your arms.
Leslie is certainly upbeat and she even throws in a clap or two to get your energy going. The music starts out at an easy pace but then gets faster and it definitely pumps me up. In terms of the actual exercise moves, there's nothing difficult about them at all. There's lots of walking, bending, kicking, and stretching. That's the extent of it.
And now for the negatives. If you're looking for a light workout, this DVD is for you. I was actually scratching my head during mile 3 when I noticed that Leslie was sweating. Don't get me wrong, it does get your heart pumping but it's not enough to make you sweat. I can't comment in terms of whether or not it aids in losing weight because, as I said above, I don't wish to lose weight but I personally can't see how you can drop 10 or 15 pounds quickly just by working out with this DVD.
Whenever I'm in the mood to workout, I pop in this DVD and it leaves me feeling great. If you're a beginner, I'd definitely recommend it.
Leslie Sansone: Walk at home August 31, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Another good tape, good walking exercise & really gives you a workout especially when I don't want to go out, also good for doing in a small space
I'M HOOKED! August 16, 2008 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I have discovered Leslie Sansone! Years ago, I purchased one of her first tapes only to be sorely disappointed because I found it boring. I have rediscovered her on "On Demand" TV and now I am hooked! She is greatly improved and it is a fun workout. What is the most important factor in an exercise program? The ability to keep on doing it on a regular basis and for me, I feel this is it because: 1. Easy to follow 2. No jarring high impact moves 3. No feeling of "I can't keep up" 4. Yet you feel like you had a great workout 5. And very important, I enjoy the music. I cannot overestimate the importance of that. If I don't like the background music, it just ruins it for me. If you are one of those that make it a career of weightlifting, harder and harder workouts, and torture, this is not for you. If you want a workout you feel you can keep up with and even look forward to doing, this is the workout for you!
Expected a Smoother Rhythm August 10, 2008 Have enjoyed using Leslie's workouts as variously shown on On Demand TV, so ordered one to own. It is a good workout, however I found it somewhat awkward to follow: I prefer to get into a rhythm and follow in time with her leg movements, and it kept skipping or having unexpected changes (usually when camera off her) that threw me off and were annoying to have to correct. The bigger disappointment though it that the stretches at the end stopped short of equal movements on each side. It is fine, can make it work, it just feels less fun than it could be.
