Product Description How do you know if you’ve found the one? Can you really love the one you’re with when you can’t forget the one who got away?
Emily Giffin, author of the New York Times bestselling novels Something Borrowed, Something Blue, and Baby Proof, poses these questions—and many more—with her highly anticipated, thought-provoking new novel Love the One You’re With.
Ellen and Andy’s first year of marriage doesn’t just seem perfect, it is perfect. There is no question how deep their devotion is, and how naturally they bring out the best in each other. But one fateful afternoon, Ellen runs into Leo for the first time in eight years. Leo, the one who brought out the worst in her. Leo, the one who left her heartbroken with no explanation. Leo, the one she could never quite forget. When his reappearance ignites long-dormant emotions, Ellen begins to question whether the life she’s living is the one she’s meant to live. At once heartbreaking and funny, Love the One You’re With is a tale of lost loves and found fortunes—and will resonate with anyone who has ever wondered what if.

A real tearjerker July 18, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I just loved this book so much. I have been through a similar situation and everything that is depicted in this book is so honest and true. I loved that the author could write so honestly about these battling emotions and not make any judgements on her characters. The moments in the book when Ellen is berating herself are so very true to what I experienced, though were really hard for me to read because of that. It was also nice that the book was fair to the character, who was acting selfishly but still trying to do what she felt was right even if that meant going against her morals. Sometimes we don't always make the best decisions when caught in hard situations, especially if our hearts are involved.
The ending really made the tears come out for me. Such a happy and sad ending. I just thought this book did a great job of describing an insanely difficult decision, when your heart is going against every bit of common sense you have.
Not laugh out loud funny July 18, 2008 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I love emily giffin's work, but this wasn't her normal laugh out loud funny. Easy read that I ultimatly enjoyed - but was looking for a good laugh even after a good cry.
Perfect summer read July 17, 2008 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Great characters (especially Suzanne, the sister), smooth writing, lots of drama, romance and interesting side issues involving loyalty to family and frienships. Add it all up and it makes for perfect summer reading. Bring this one on vacation with you like I did! It's a very satisfying read.
I WAS a Giffin fan... not anymore! July 17, 2008 1 out of 5 found this review helpful
Wow! Bad book! I had read (and loved) all her others... This book is slow, stupid, and pointless.
I do not recommend this book to anyone with half a brain. I did however love Something Borrowed and Something Blue.
Great Summer Reading Book July 16, 2008 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this book for summer reading and its a great love story. I couldn't put the book down, just was intrigued what would happen next? I haven't read any more books of E. Griffin, but I will surely continue reading her!! Would she finally be with the person she truly loves? This book shows you how to follow your heart and make hard love decisions and their distinctive point of views. Definitely it leaves you craving for more. Its well written and easy to read. The author really gets inside the character well enough for you to know and understand what she's feeling. I really recommend it if you love these kind of novels.
