An absolute must read September 26, 2008 J. Ribeiro (New York City) A book that provides essential information on hormones to women, premenopausal or in reproductive years. I wish I had read it when I was in my early thirties. It would have saved me a lot of grief. At the very least it will help with knowing what questions to ask your Dr.
Must Read! September 16, 2008 Heidi (So Cal) This book is a must read...for everyone! I learned so much about hormones and health. Who knew hormones regulate most things in the body? For both men and women! If our hormones are out of balance, it can affect so many things. Dr. Lee does a great job of educating us on hormones, balance and using natural hormones. I highly recommend this book and all others Dr. Lee has written.
This book has helped me tremendously August 31, 2008 D. Edgell (Long Beach, Ca USA) This book and "What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause", have helped me so much to know what is going on with me and my body and to assist me in finding ways to help myself. Topical, natural Progesterone has been a life saver, no more hot flashes or night sweats, and it is helping my mood to stabilize. His books explain the difference between natural and 'man made' and how the chemical composition needs to be the same chemical composition as created by our bodies. I refer back to both of these books often and have been taking vitamins and supplements. I have found these to be a wealth of wisdom.
What your Dr. may not tell you about premenopause. May 9, 2008 C. Pleasant (California) I thought this book was very helpful in giving alternative methods for treating PMS. It also clarified for me-- hair loss issues, and weight issues related to hormonal imbalance. I have already begun using the natural progesterone cream and I have noticed a lessening of my PMS symptoms within the first cycle. I recommend this book to every woman experiencing extreme PMS symptoms, hair loss, and weight issues.
Saved my SLEEP!! May 6, 2008 Shipper 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am now a happy, WELL-RESTED 40 yr old due to this book (and another book: Natural Hormone Balance For Women by Dr. Uzzi Reiss) Both of these have saved my LIFE, most importantly my SLEEP! For the past few years (after having a 3rd child) from age 37 onward, I could no longer fall into sleep, nor get REM/Delta level, and NOTHING would work (except Ambien). Well now since learning about natural progesterone cream and other important, necessary homones the body may need (and mine did), such as DHEA and Melatonin, I now use all three nearly every night at bedtime: one tiny dab of a natural progesterone cream, 2 sprays (equals 10 mg) of a DHEA spray called Biosom, and 1 mg or less (half the pill) of Melatonin Plus by Schiff (Found at Sam's, it also contains vitamin B6 and L-Theanine very needed additions to helping Melatonin work). Now I sleep like a baby every night! No more Ambien!:) Buy this book (and the other one I mentioned). OB/GYN's disappointed me by recommending HRT or even hysterectomy, ALL because I simply had hormone imbalance-related Insomnia and Adrenal Fatigue. PLEASE check with your doctor/naturopath BEFORE taking any of my above products/steps that work for ME.
