Actionable Manual March 9, 2008 Maxim Masiutin (Chisinau, Republic of Moldova) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
In the past, doctors attempted to define Premature Ejaculation (PE) in terms of how quickly the patient ejaculates. Some treatment centers believed that if a man lasted less than one minute after vaginal entry he was premature. Other groups used one and a half minutes or two minutes as their criterion. Instead of the natural enjoy, men with this type of PE have to struggle to hold back, and can only do so with tremendous effort and with a great deal of tension, which takes all the pleasure out of the act for themselves and also spoils it for their partners. In 1980s, Helen Singer Kaplan has proposed a new definition of PE, which has been adopted by the American Psychiatric Association and by the World Health Organization. According to the new diagnostic guidelines, the essential feature of PE is that the man lacks adequate voluntary ejaculatory control with the result that the climaxes involuntarily before he wishes to. The author affirms that PE can be cured, so today over 90 percent of cased can be cured with an average of 14 weeks of treatment. The author analyzes what causes PE, scrutinizes physical and psychological causes of PE, and present the new treatment of PE split into steps with illustrated exercises and advises for both partners. The illustrations are taken from the other author's book: "The Illustrated Manual Of Sex Therapy". I can recommend it in addition to this book, as well as the author's title "The Sexual Desire Disorders - Dysfunctional Regulation of Sexual Motivation".
Very high level information December 17, 2007 Venkat Srinivasan (CA, USA) The information in the book is bit old and most of the information provided (such as how to over come PE...) can be found online. I would recommend "Coping With Premature Ejaculation: How to Overcome PE, Please Your Partner & Have Great Sex" since that book had much more information on PE
Working so far!!! May 24, 2007 JB 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I hate to read, but this was a quick and very helpful read. The information was useful and the techniques are working very well after a few weeks of practice. This was recommended by my doctor and I'll pass that recommendation along. Good luck.

I was disappointed. I finished the book during the second chapter.
Difficult to finish May 27, 2005 P. M. Freese 5 out of 13 found this review helpful
As someone who has suffered many years from PE, I was hoping to find some useful advice from this book. The first chapter, which I have read many times, is sensational. As I have not yet been able to finish this book, I am hoping that the next edition is better paced.
