Amazon.com There's an expanding choice of pregnancy workout videos out there, and National Aerobics medalist Aileen Sheron offers this 64-minute tape for women with some dance experience who want to try some challenging steps. In other words, if anything more complicated than the grapevine trips you up, you'll want to look elsewhere. After a brief explanation of her credentials and the benefits and precautions of exercising while pregnant, Sheron launches into a 50-minute workout that includes two warm-up sections, three aerobic sets, three strengthening sections, and a warm-down stretch before her relaxation segment. Instead of floor work, Sheron demonstrates leg work and other resistance exercises using a chair and an exercise band, included with the video. Her aerobic sections involve combinations of several dance steps (Charleston, cross step, cha cha, etc.) and require more room than some exercise tapes do. (A small family room may not accommodate.) Sheron's strenuous workout is followed by her six-minute interview with a physician expert on prenatal exercise. In addition, a pamphlet detailing the recommendations of the American College of Obstreticians and Gynecologists and warnings on prenatal and postnatal exercise is enclosed with the video. --Kimberly Heinrichs

I love this workout! challenging yet fun and safe September 7, 2005 niecypoo (Atlanta, Ga) I am an avid exerciser...I found this workout, fun , safe and even relaxing at the end. Its challenging and provides a great neck to toe (literally) workout. I will probably do the workout even after pregnancy. I love the band work and the relaxation segment.
Finally--a challenging pregnancy workout November 22, 2003 J. England (Tucson, AZ) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
If you were a regular exerciser before getting pregnant and are looking to keep up the pace somewhat, this exercise video is a good place to start. It's not intense to the point of being dangerous, but it does keep you moving for a good while and help you work up a light sweat. The instructor tells you what to look out for in the beginning, but doesn't talk to you like you're a medical patient all the time, like in a lot of other pregnancy videos. There's a brisk warm-up and stretch in the beginning, then 3 fun sections of aerobics (I thought the moves were easy to catch onto after seeing the video 1 or 2 times), then leg work, arm work and abdominals with the elastic band. I didn't get bored, and I think this video is a great way to keep yourself in shape and flexible throughout your pregnancy. I really like it!
Awesome Video!! September 24, 2003 C. Holmes (Tampa, FL United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This video is great! I used it during both of my pregnancies and thought it was great for keeping in shape. It also kept my sciatica from bothering me during my second pregnancy! It was worth it just for that. I would definetely recommend this to anyone looking for a pregnancy workout video!!
Great for Moms who love aerobics February 6, 2003 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This video is great for moms who have been doing aerobics prior to getting pregnant. It is challenging, with fairly quick moves, but it's interesting and gives a good workout in a short amount of time. It's on par with Kathy Smith and Buns of Steel. The exercise band routines are as challenging as you want them to be (band was included w/ my tape purchase) and were a nice variation to the traditional toning routines in others.

I can understand why so many people don't like this video, but I loved it. The steps are challenging and involving without being too much workout. Yes, it took me several times before I could follow the whole video without missing my steps repeatedly (OK maybe a few more times than that), but you know what? I don't want a video I can do perfectly the first time. I want one that engages my brain as well as my body. I tried several other pregnancy videos, and found them thoroughly irritating. They were simple to the point of utter mindlessness, and the instructors tend to be annoyingly cheery. Aileen Sheron is pleasant but not chipper/perky, and builds steps quickly into mini dance routines that are actually both fun and interesting to do. I'd far rather spend the time having fun learning my way through this tape than droning on through something simpler like an automaton.
