Short on time when it comes to working out? Quick Fix Tight Abs may solve your exercise dilemma with this concise and efficient workout. Personal trainer Julie Upton instructs this session in three 10-minute segments that can be done together for an intense abdominal challenge, or separately for the truly time deficient exerciser. Each of the three segments will target your midsection through a great variety of movements that don't waste time. Upton delivers far more than the standard crunch here and presents creative abdominal exercises that are just as effective as the old standby. Obliques and lower abdominals get some intensive work through cross lateral moves that incorporate the legs and hips. This is a powerful format that is designed for the advanced exerciser and modifications are not offered for beginners or participants with neck and back problems. The advanced nature of movements offer great strength training potential for the experienced athlete, but may pose safety issues for exercisers with compromised backs and necks. The music has a nice solid beat that is not too overbearing or antiquated. A clock in the corner of the screen counts down each minute of training, which is perfect for those with time limits (or anyone who hates every minute of sit-ups). The three subdivisions within this video allow participants to dedicate as much (or as little) time to this regimen as they desire. If used frequently, Quick Fix Tight Abs is a solid strength training program that can firm and tone the midsection. --Olivia Voigts

5 out of 5 stars Great for daily ab workouts!   February 20, 2004

This video is wonderful. Ten minutes of ab work is actually a lot more than people realize and Julie Upton definitely makes the most of your time. She does lots of different exercises - many of them I'm sure you've never seen before. They're very effective, and although I do agree that sometimes you don't feel the burn (even the next day) it doesn't mean your abs aren't getting stronger. I used to hate doing simple crunches, but now I love working my abs. This video makes it so easy, seeing as the only way one could imagine spending 10 minutes on abs otherwise, is by doing 3 sets of crunches/leg lifts etc. This is a great video, and always challenging. Buy it!

5 out of 5 stars I love it!   January 22, 2004

Right off the bat doing the first workout I could tell it was working my abs. The second I couldn't "feel the burn" but that's probably a good thing. Just because you don't feel the burn, and don't feel it the next day doesn't mean the workout is doing nothing. Working consistently will get results with or without feeling it burn.
As for the moves being slow, that's what makes them harder! The slower you do each move, the longer you're using your muscles for each repetition which is a GOOD thing.
I really like the instructor, and the fact that the workouts are only 10 minutes. I felt a difference after just the first workout!

1 out of 5 stars Don't bother - if you're looking for a great ab workout   March 28, 2003

I just received the video and couldn't wait to feel my abs burning. What a disappointment! Although the instructor explained each move slowly, when you actually got into it, it seemed to go to slow and not make you feel the burn as in other Ab videos. I would recommend this only if you are a beginner and never worked your abs before. Abs of Steel videos are much more intense and you feel the burn!

5 out of 5 stars Perfect Quick Fix   January 14, 2003

I think this video is great. At 10 minutes each it is really easy to squeeze one, two, or even all three workouts into my day. The variety of exercises is great and the clock is great too. I have been able to consistently do this video because it is quick and fun, and I noticed a difference in about 2 weeks, doing it every other day. It's great!

5 out of 5 stars I absolutely love this video!!   September 9, 2002

I am fourteen and really enjoy this video. I like the instructor because she is not boring to listen to and she isn't toooo "peppy" but is still enthusiastic. There are many fun moves where I feel the burn a lot. It is very easy to follow...I was able to do the whole video the first time. I absolutely love this video...I have done it every day after school for about 2 weeks and I am beginning to see a difference! This is one great ab workout video!
