Amazon.com If you like the energy high, with plenty of visual and auditory stimulation, you'll enjoy Grind: Dance Club Aerobics. The scene is a trendy dance club. Host Eric Neis does the workout alongside able and motivating instructor Akiba Tripp. They are followed by an assortment of hot bods--bare-chested males and bare-midriffed females, all young, buffed, sweaty, and enthusiastically loud, who take turns instructing moves. The hip-hop choreography is intense, but the instructors make it more accessible by showing each move at half-time, then bringing it up to tempo, then joining it onto the other moves until you have a long pattern. Then the pattern is repeated several times, with visual interest added by having the instructors in different formations: just the guys, just the women, one woman and a bunch of guys, and so on. You, of course, get to participate every time. The aerobic workout ends with a "funky freestyle," where the instructors show off their own moves, one by one, while you do whatever you want and watch. Then you cool down and stretch, followed by floor exercises for the lower body. This 50-minute video is a lot of fun, especially if you're young and coordinated, with energy to burn. --Joan Price

Wow, what a workout September 19, 2008 Garyallen Glass (New York, NY) For about six years I have used this video as part of a cardiovascular workout....I must say that it is entertaining and after learning the routine, I've actually used it (back in the day - "hahahahaha")to show some friends of mine what it is like. The best part is that it is thorough in that it works the entire body....I've gained flexibility and tonned areas of my body that I've always wanted to trim down. The funniest thing to me is that from the beginning Eric Nies has a hard time keeping up and staying focused; however, Akiba Tripp always reals him back into the fold. It also is a really good way to stretch before weight-training....all and all, after getting through it and lifting weights, I've gotten myself into really good shape - and I feel great! For anyone who is not sure about doing it - I HIGHLY RECOMMEND IT!
When available on DVD ???? May 8, 2007 Sue (Europe) I really like the MTV - the grind workouts..... when will they be available on DVD ????? Greetz from Europe
What? This tape is AWESOME! March 10, 2005 James (USA) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
Really-I wonder who is writing the same review over and over... This video is FUN! It isn't hardcore at all, but it is good for a fun hour of dancing and having fun. The moves are all beat..they are super fun to do! This is actually my favorite GRIND video, alongside Hip Hop Aerobics. The MUSIC is awesome. Very dancey and club oriented Akiba Tripp is such a fun dancer/instructor! She isn't in your face, she isn't overly cheerleader-ish AT ALL, and yet, you still feel like moving with her and being a part of the team! She is definitely unique in this way, because alot of instructors resort to fakey fakey niceties to try and get people to follow them. (In videos especially) The only thing I would say to the beginner (or new person to this workout) is that it will take a few times to get the workout down. The moves are more complex IMO than other Grinds.. Plus, like others have said, Kristin's moves are HILARIOUS, and the look on one of the other dancer's faces (Nico) during her freestyle is ABSOLUTELY worth the price of this tape!!!
Really gets you sweatin'! February 8, 2003 Jill 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
This is a great video if you like to dance.I loved it. Some of the moves remind me of my highschool cheerleading days. But it is tricky to learn at first. Just stick with it and once you get it you'll be on your way to burning lots of fat!
A fun, great workout! October 9, 2002 Meg (Traverse City, MI United States) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this video because I was bored staring at a wall while running on my treadmill and using my stationary bike. Let me tel you... this is a lot more interesting! I have had a lot of fun learning the dance routine. The first 2 times you do the workout, you might have to rewind the video occasionally if you miss a step, but it's not too difficuly, especially if you like to dance. While this is no super cardio workout, it's still works you some... and it's well worth the time.I especially like how they break it into half-time so you can get all the steps just right. Another part that I loved was how all the steps offer space for you to "add your own flavor" (translation= shake it!) and do whatever you want. I recommend this video! It's no intense workout, but it makes me sweat and I have a great time!
