Great Beginner's Video July 10, 2008 T. Walker (Michigan) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I had not worked out in years. The kettlebell seemed interesting to me, but intimidating. I was I afraid that I would hurt myself with it. However, Sarah gives clear instructions and reminders throughout the video. I am beginning to have that "pleasantly sore" feeling now, rather that feeling like I have been hit by a train. I am starting to see a little definition in my arms and shoulders and feel much more toned, in general. For those of you gals that are a little older and a little fearful of the bells, give Sarah's video a try. I think that you will find it is a great starting point.
audio screwed up February 24, 2008 K. Jones 0 out of 7 found this review helpful
At times her mouth isn't in line with the audio - her mouth moves too slow and it's annoying to watch.
Great intro. to kettlebells for the beginner January 27, 2008 C. Holmes 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
I am new to kettlebells but love to lift weights and do cardio. I thought that this would be something new. WOW. It is an amazing workout. I used a 18 lb kettlebell and I am really feeling it. This is a better leg workout than I have ever had before. The 30 sec. breaks seem annoying at first but based on how I felt the next day I need them. It's no big deal though once you are strong enough you can just exercise through them. The DVD is half the price on her website and at target. Overall, it's a good choice for beginners.
Kettlebells the iron core way vol. one... January 25, 2008 vote4serenity2 (USA) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am brand new to this type of workout, and did the first two circuits today using a 10 lb. KB. I think I will like this, once I've got some practice under my belt. At first, I thought each rep was too fast, but once I've got my form down, I don't think that will be a problem. I'm sure by the time I can move at the speed of the instructor, it will be time for me to move up to a 15 lb. KB. I enjoyed the DVD, and would recommend. I'm going to use wrist guards the next time, though! :-)
Good, solid instruction December 23, 2007 Douglas Rambo 5 out of 6 found this review helpful
I found this item when I became interested in checking out Kettlebells. This DVD came highly rated by almost all who reviewed it. I feel the same way. It's very thorough and takes you through a set of three circuits that work all the major muscles. I have gone to the gym for years and grew increasingly bored with that type of training. It's nice to just stay home and insert the DVD and be on my way. Looking forward to training this way for a good long time. My only criticism of the DVD is the weight of the kettlebell that a person could start out with is missing. This would be very useful information. I decided that 30lbs would be a good starting point for me and this has proved true. Overall, kettlebells are a very good way to get started on your journey to greater fitness. This input is coming months after my first comment. I wanted to warn people that I developed tennis elbow in my left arm after following this DVD for about a month. My left arm started getting very sore and I developed tennis elbow before I realized I had it. I suspect that the twisting in the exercise called "cleans" contributed the most to it. Be careful of your elbows when doing the exercises. I will only go back and do the exercise with both arms and eliminate the one armed exercise. However I am 57 years old and I'm sure that has a lot to do with my results. Still,I feel it is a great exercise program.
