Product Description We live in a toxic world. Environmental pollution and disease-causing germs assault us continually day after day. Our food is nutrient deficient and our water supply dangerously contaminated. People today are exposed to chemicals in far greater concentrations than were previous generations. Diseases that were rare or unheard of a century ago are now raging upon us like a plague. Millions are dying from diseases that were virtually unknown in the past. Experts tell us that by the time we reach middle age, each one of us will have already been affected by either cancer, cardiovascular disease, or some other serious degenerative condition. Conventional medicine has no sure cure. Drugs, surgery, and radiation treatments can be as dangerous and debilitating as the diseases they attempt to cure. This book outlines the steps you need to take to thoroughly detoxify and cleanse your body from these disease-causing agents. You will also learn how to reduce your toxic exposure and how to strengthen your immune system.

unsuitable for people with weak adrenals August 3, 2009 Carol Y. Pang (Taipei, Taiwan) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
while i'm sure this author has the best intentions, he neglects to point out detox may not be for everyone, especially people with adrenal fatigue. ppl with adrenal fatigue need to maintain steady blood sugar levels, which means fasting is no good, and also detoxing itself can be taxing on the adrenals.
for myself, i followed his advice on the liver flush, and felt much worse after doing it. i had constipation, indigestion, and was very weak for a week or so. even now, indigestion is still bothering me. i think these problems were dormant, but once my adrenals were so weakened by the liver flush, they all exploded to the surface. i feel it is somewhat irresponsible for the author to make it as if detoxing is the way to good health for everyone. for some, they might have to build up their adrenals first.
Awesome book.... May 12, 2009 Theresa (Chicago, IL) I discovered this book about 12 years ago at my local library and decided to read it. It was time well spent. It gave me a better understanding of my body and how what we consume and our environment impacts us negatively. I tried the program and did the kidney, liver and colon cleanse. I was much satisfied with the results and just overall felt better. I plan to do it again soon. Definitely worth purchasing for your home library and as a tool to detox your body.
Great, easy to read, with a lot of useful information February 14, 2009 J. Switzer 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I wanted to do a fast and looked at several books for fasting, but didn't find any of them as useful as this book. The other chapters (healing process, kidney/colon/liver/mind cleansing) were excellent as well. Although I didn't go on the authors proposed "natural foods diet", this book made me realize how important it is to eat healthy. I have tried many of the methods in the book over the last 6-8 months and have never felt better.
Very repetitive, very repetitive, very repetitive February 2, 2009 SarahBeth 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This book has alot of great information in it which is why I gave it 4 stars. It lists out specifics such as which preservatives to stay away from and which foods to eat on a regular basis (Natural Foods diet). He even talks about the benefits of fasting and the juice diet which was all new to me and very interesting. My major complaint is that all of the main points are restated 4 or 5 times. It can get frustrating reading the same thing over and over. Then, some really interesting points (like the fact that cola soft drinks can deplete bone marrow) are understated and can be missed if you're reading too fast. I would recommend this book to someone who wants to learn the basics about diet and detoxing though. It was an easy book to read and very helpful to a beginner like me.
Basically, the bible of detoxing / natural health December 7, 2008 Lux Aeterne (Wisconsin, USA) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
Phenomenal book! It really has just about everything you would need to know about the subject. Aside from a couple of minor typos, it's extremely well-written and engaging. What's really nice is that the author covers all the bases...I was left with very few unanswered questions after reading the entire book. I've just completed a fast, kidney cleanse, and liver cleanse and everything that was mentioned was right on the money. My eyes have brightened up tremendously and a fibromyalgia-type pain and numbness in my leg that has been bothering me for several months gone. One thing that was unexpected is the psychological effects that its caused as well - just astounding! My overall mood (which I thought was pretty good before) has improved, my ability to cope with stresses is increased, and I've shed myself of some addictive behaviors (completely quit smoking - it was on its way out the door before - and totally lost any desire to drink alcohol). One caveat...this is no quick fix, it really does require a lifestyle change. However, in one review they mention that the author says not to eat meat at all and pushes a vegetarian agenda. This is not the case. The author simply says that the amount of protein that we consume is far in excess of what is necessary and recommends cutting meat down to smaller servings 2 or 3 times a week (and only organic meat, the fat which is in all meat and dairy is basically a toxin sponge).
