Loooooooooved it March 18, 2010 Jacqueline Martin (port huron, mi USA) I first borrowed this book from the library. After reading through it the first time, I HAD to get it for my house. Its a great book...easy to read and understand, LOTS of information, and a great resource. I just got my copy in the mail yesterday and have my highlighter ready!
Loved this book!!! January 28, 2010 GFCFSF yay! (chicago) I bought it at a bookstore, because I couldn't wait to order it. Barrie has been extremely helpful and giving of advice--I had to read her book. She very intelligently and easily shares numerous ideas of working with the GFCF Diet--which can be scary for newbies. Love her, love her book!
Great Resource Book!! January 27, 2010 Jamie (Las Vegas, NV) This book was very easy to read and understand. It gives much insight whether you are just starting out or been on your journey for awhile. My child has autism and I found this book very helpful with such things as diet, tips on traveling, ingredients and much more. I have many pages dogearred and refer back to it often. I have read MANY books on autism and this one definately is one of my top picks!!! Well done Barrie.
My "go-to" source for the GFCF diet December 17, 2009 Laurie Stilwell (Texas) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
After looking at several books about the GFCF diet, this is the one I decided to buy first. And I'm glad I did. It's been my "go to" source for how to implement the diet. We've also taken the author's word at removing artificial colors, artificial anything from my ds's diet. It's all been so worth it. This is a good book to give you a place to begin and for the diet's continuation and has lots of explanations. Next on my list is to buy this book for the grandma's so they can get a better grip on what we're doing with our ds. A gem of a book on the GFCF diet.
Great Book for GFCF Beginners! December 8, 2009 Loretta Cochran (Pottsville, AR) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a wonderful book if you are starting the diet and don't know where to begin. That is my family - we have struggled for years with my son's autism and ADHD and finally committed to the diet. I purchased this book and never looked back. Barrie has listed many great resources and helps "non-cooks" like me navigate this new world. I have several other Autism and Diet books - and this is the one that is dog eared and used the most. Well worth the time and $$$. Barrie - please keep this book updated with frequent editions!
