I was shocked at the reality of the calories in the food I was eating October 29, 2009 Reader named Reeder (Edmond, OK) Great book - I have been choosing the wrong foods and thinking I was making healthy choices! That Arby's turkey sandwich with spicy mustard and honey wheat bread - shocking! I could have been eating a cheese smothered sandwich,,,:)
awesome October 3, 2009 Sarah H. Malta i have`all the books and i love them all but alot on info is repeated in all the books
Great Books!!! October 3, 2009 Patricia A. Davis (Hendersonville, NC) This book is great and very informative. I have all the books in the series and refer to them very frequently. I would recommend them to anyone that wants the real truth about what you might be eating or ARE eating. It is shocking and makes you think twice about alot of the foods. Thanks to the author(s) for great books. Keep up the good work. I would recommend to add this book and all the other ones to your collection or library!!
Nice Supplement October 3, 2009 T. Jacobson (UT United States) I love this book. I can go to the grocery store a little better armed with the knowledge of what is best for my family. The only thing I don't like about this book is that it doesn't necessarily discourage one from eating certain foods that we know are already unhealthy for us but tells us which unhealthy foods are on the better side of the line. That's why I call it a supplement. However, I love, LOVE the chapters that talk about foods that are beneficial for certain areas of your health. There's a chapter on foods for blood pressure, cholesterol, and blood sugar. There are blurbs about foods that will help with stress, mood, energy, feeling slim, metabolism, sleep, illness, libido, fertility, work outs, skin.......lots of interesting useful info. AND, if you're a person or a family that likes to eat out, this is a great guide to dishes out there that are surprises in the areas of calories and sodium intake. Very useful resource.
Another Book in the Series October 2, 2009 Michael P. Bobee (Hoyloke, MA USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is the fourth book in the series and was a borderline 3 stars. They focused heavily on restaurants, and did not spend as much time in the grocery store. It would have been nice to see some recipes or maybe a "fast food at home" section. I'm glad I bought it on sale here,- otherwise I would have really felt like I got ripped off.
