Not so great December 12, 2007 Keren G. Mier (East & West Coast Commuter, FL USA) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This book is a thumb-nail reference for ideas to enrich the lives of those with Alzheimer's or other senile dementing disorders. However, as a professional therapist, I find the ideas rather involved. I believe these ideas are more appropriate for primary caregivers and family. As someone who visits ALFs, I'd have to have a HUGE bag of tricks to accomplish most of these activities (and each tailored to the individuals' pasts).

An excellent resource for caregivers of Alzheimer patients. Not quite as good for workers in the field.

Book was a help. Many of the suggested activities I was already aware of but it did add to the choices.
Excellent resource for care givers! July 17, 2006 Becky (Madison, WI) In reviewing this book, I discovered it is an excellent resource not only for professional care providers, but for family members as well. There are very detailed examples of specific activities to do on a daily basis, and could be easily adapted for varying levels of dementia.
