Product Description Thirteen-year-old Jonah has always known that he was adopted, and he's never thought it was any big deal. Then he and a new friend, Chip, who's also adoped, begin receiving mysterious letters. The first one says, "You are one of the missing." The second one says, "Beware! They're coming back to get you."Jonah, Chip, and Jonah's sister, Katherine, are plunged into a mystery that involves the FBI, a vast smuggling operation, an airplane that appeared out of nowhere -- and people who seem to appear and disappear at will. The kids discover they are caught in a battle between two opposing forces that want very different things for Jonah and Chip's lives. Do Jonah and Chip have any choice in the matter? And what should they choose when both alternatives are horrifying? With Found, Margaret Peterson Haddix begins a new series that promises to be every bit as suspenseful as her Shadow Children series -- which has sold more than 41/2 million copies -- and proves her, once again, to be a master of the page-turner.

11 year old non-reader can't put it down November 8, 2008 Mountain mom (NJ) Try as hard as I could my daughter just never loved reading. I would buy books, take her to book stores - nothing. There was a book fair at school and she bought this book. She started reading it on the busride home. She has not put it down since. She is loving the suspense of the story. And for the first time in her life when I called her she replied"Just one more chapter?" That is something I will never forget. I can't thank the author enough. She has turned my non-reader into a reader. And I am buying her other books as well. Thank you for opening the world of reading to my daughter.

Found is a very great book by Margaret Peterson Haddix. It is a realistic fiction book. Jonah just thought he was a regular adopted kid growing up in a perfectly normal life with two parents and a sister, until, a new kid, Chip, moved in about three months ago. He and Chip are pretty good friends and then, out of nowhere Jonah gets a letter that says you are one of the missing. This freaks him and Chip out and Chip goes home. About an hour later, Chip knocks on his door and says he got a letter too and that his parents have been hiding his adoption his whole life. Jonah and his family then go to the F.B.I. about his adoption and he discovers a man in the bathroom that tells him to look in a file on the F.B.I. agent's desk that holds the secrets to what really happened to get Jonah adopted. This then leads to Jonah going to an adoption assembly with Chip. Chip and Jonah then get taken into an unknown cave and...! You'll have to read it! This book was one of the best books I have ever read. It has many twists and turns and gets you very curious. This book is best suite for 5th to eighth graders.
Fantastic! November 4, 2008 C. Walker (Kansas, USA) My mother is a school librarian and occasionally lets me read books she's purchased and give her my opinion. She recently purchased this book at a Scholastic book fair and after reading the back, I swiped it from her to read. Let me tell you, this is one of the best books I've read lately! It's definitely a page-turner and is one of those books where you think you've figured out the plot only to have it twist a little more and leave you sitting there saying, "Wait, what?!" Jonah and Chip are two 13-year-old boys who are both adopted (Chip finds out later) and start receiving strange letters in the mail claiming that they are "one of the missing". After some investigating/snooping, they find out that they are not the only two to experience this, but are instead part of a group of babies that were found alone on a mysterious airplane over 12 years earlier. The two boys and Jonah's younger sister decide that they are going to figure out what's going on and soon experience things from people vanishing into thin air to time travel. If you're looking for a book that has adventure, mystery, and even a little horror all mixed in to one, this is the book to buy! I'm excited to see how far Haddix takes this series and in what direction.
Found October 27, 2008 Lisa H. Criste (WI, United States) By alli THIS WAS ONE OF THE BEST BOOKS I have ever read! The plot was good and it was really well written.
