Editorial Reviews:

Book Description
This infectiously funny board book puts the responsibility of using a potty right into toddlers' hands! Each chunky, cut-out page features adorable children with silly and sensible reasons to use a potty. The built-in handle lets kids hang the book on a doorknob -- ready for reading whenever it's needed.

Dimensions (inches): 6 x 11 3/4

5 out of 5 stars mantabulous   August 18, 2003

A must have...how many times have you sat there and read the ingrediants of a lotion bottle wondering if the effects of SPF and aloe truely impact world events...then I discovered the "Potty Time Book" hanging on a friend's doorknob...I left only because my legs fell asleep...I've now purchased one for each bathroom...You should too...

2 out of 5 stars Very disappointing   December 8, 2001

I was attracted to the concept of a potty book that hangs on the handle of the bathroom door because it would always be there to entertain my two year old on the potty. However, it has not moved from the door handle. Because my child who loves books has no interest in the book, I've rated it low. I also think there are better potty books out there. (We like Caillou Potty Time and What to Expect When You Use the Potty.)

Some of my issues with the book are that the snap that holds the book closed is difficult to open. The book itself is awkward and difficult for little hands to handle and maneuver. The first page (although true) bothered me: "Diapers are yucky and smelly! Yor should use the potty -" I think my problem with this is that we are having a lot of setbacks since the birth of her sister. As a result, I feel that this page evokes the feeling of shame, which I am trying to avoid.

On the positive side, this is a sturdy board book which does hang nicely from the door. It quickly reminds little ones of the rituals involved in going to the potty (wipe, flush, wash, etc.) However, it is not a big winner in our home.

5 out of 5 stars Great Book   June 6, 2001

This book is a must have. It hangs on the bathroom door and my toddler just loves pulling it out everytime he has to use the bathroom. The book is written from the perspective of an older child showing a younger one "the ropes". The illustrations are also very good and hence makes it easy for a toddler to identify the potty, the toilet and toilet paper.

4 out of 5 stars THIS BOOK IS CHARMING   August 29, 2000

THIS BOOK IS ONE OF THE BEST ON THE "POTTY" BOOK LIST. ALTHOUGH IT IS ALITTLE BIT PRICIER THAN SOME OF THE OTHER BOOKS OUT IS IS A GREAT BOOK. THE PAGES ARE HEAVY CARDBOARD AND QUITE INDESTRUCTIBLE. THE STORY IS SHORT AND TO THE POINT. "DIAPERS ARE YUCKY AND SMELLY, YOU SHOULD USE THE POTTY, AND I'LL SHOW YOU HOW." THE ILLUSTRATIONS ARE HUMOROUS, AND THE ENIDING IS WONDERFUL. THIS BOOK IS ONE OF MY ALL TIME FAVORITES.
