Works so well, I can't keep them!! December 8, 2004 Sharon B. Tootle (everywhere, USA) 20 out of 21 found this review helpful
I have bought three of the Miracle Ball Method: Relieve Your Pain, Reshape Your Body, Reduce Your Stress. Every time I buy one for myself, someone wants to borrow it and it is gone! These balls really are a miracle. I use them for my lower back and they relieve the stress and pressure for hours. My friend, the one who "took" the first set of miracle balls, uses them for upper neck pain and declares they are better than going to a chiropractor. She is able to work without pain now, which is something she has not been able to do for years. My other friend, the one who "took" my second set of miracle balls, uses them for her feet. She swears that they work like reflexology, not only easing the aching in her feet, but making other areas of her body better as well. So...I am now hiding mine so I won't lose them to another friend. Or...maybe not. Everyone should have these.
from a skeptic: yes, it does work!!! November 19, 2004 Reader (Pasadena, CA) Ok, so I bought this with the idea that I would try it out and return it because I had strong doubts that it would work. I have had bad neck, jaw, and myofacial pain for last 4 years which really nothing has helped--medication, yoga, etc... In a nutshell, I carefully followed the exercises for the neck/jaw area, and found to my great surprise that the method actually did work. While on the ball, I must say that the sensation in my facial/neck muscles stretching felt good but slightly uncomfortable--they were stretching in a way they hadn't before. But once I finished with the exercises and sat up, I noticed my symptoms were much reduced. Not 100% completely cured, I'd say about 75% relieved. The best I've felt in the last 4 years. A negative review here incorrectly stated that the balls can't be inflated which is not true--the author writes that an old fashioned bike pump can be used to add air. Sure, this may be a mass marketed product, but it truly works. I highly rec'd that anyone suffering from long term chronic muscle pain to give it a try.
Great Technique August 9, 2004 Jammie Marie Schulte (Eugene, OR USA) 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
Two small, cushy balls accompany a paperback exercise book that is meant to relieve pain, tone your body and improve posture. The manual begins with simple breathing exercises to help the individual relieve stress. Once the individual's breathing is regulated it is time to move on to the exercises, and the fun-part...the balls. The exercise techniques presented in this manual are simple and straight forward, however constructive. This is a system to help you relieve stress, tension and pain from head-to-toe. I would recommend The Miracle Ball Method.
Worked for me! July 23, 2004 Timothy Joseph (Orlando, FL United States) 25 out of 25 found this review helpful
I recently bought a house that is a bit of a fixer upper. With all my pain in my neck and back I wasn't sure how I'd be able to fix anything. 15 minutes at the grocery store is about all I can usually handle. I found this book on accident and decided to give it a try. After two days on the balls I set out to put a hard wood floor in my kitchen. after 5 hours the only real pain I felt was in my knees and some sore muscles. My neck and back were ready for more work. I could care less if someone else has been teaching this method and calling it something else. That book doesn't come with the balls. This worked for me and I can't see any reason it wouldn't for for anyone else.
A mass-marketed version of an already-existing technology June 29, 2004 26 out of 92 found this review helpful
Yamuna Zake invented this technology over a decade ago; her company Yamuna Body Rolling sells a line of balls for body rolling. Amazon sells the Yamuna book. Ball Dynamics has sold a line of similar balls for many years. In my area, local stores sell these balls. Both of these systems have 3 balls of varying diameter; they did that because that's what they found works! The systems also include a pump to allow for getting a precise pressure in the balls. I cannot imagine how such a system would work without having a pump to alter the pressure. Both the Yamuna and BDI balls are much more thick-skinned than the "miracle" ball. This is crucial for providing padding for the body when rolling. Using a thin-skinned ball is like doing Pilates matwork with no mat! Finally, I strongly recommend getting hands-on instruction to start with any kind of technology like this. This kind of deep-muscle work is challenging technology; 'tis quite useful to get experienced help while learning it.
