I love this series ! August 26, 2008 That's fine you don't like it everyone has their own opinions. BUT I LOVED THIS BOOK AND THE ENTIRE SERIES ! I read to be entertained and to feel the emotions within books and STEPHENIE MEYER DID A FABULOUS JOB OF THAT ! My favorite books BY FAR AND I re read them over and over. READ THE BOOKS AND HAVE DON'T THINK just have fun !
HAVE FUN BECAUSE I SURE DID !
great book August 26, 2008 One of the best books I have read in a long time. The twilight saga is great! Stephanie Meyer is a great writter. Once you start reading, you can't stop. I loved this book.
Entertaining and a lot of fun August 26, 2008 I borrowed this book from an adult friend of mine. I read the whole thing in about a day. I was instantly drawn into the world Stephanie Meyer created, and I would try to do things during my day, but was stuck thinking about this book.
It is very addictive, and I can't wait to read the other installments. Her character development is fantastic. I was, honestly, unaware that these books were for young adults until after I read Twilight. I believe it is a good book for any age.

Not a teen reader August 25, 2008 This book was suggested to me by my visiting 13 year old niece. I got it for the heck of it and two weeks later I'm on book 3 and staying up late. I read the Harry Potter books the same way. Enjoyable characters an basically just a lot of fun to read!
Just a quick read. August 25, 2008 This book was referred to me as a Harry Potter like novel with vampires and werewolves with a few tics more on the romantic side. With that in mind I decided why not give it a shot. Now all in all, this book isn't that bad but I can't help but think that this book was like going into the super market and getting store brand for a few bucks less. It has all the correct ingredients, but just not mixed correctly.
The one thing that Twilight does right is develop the 2 main characters Edward and Bella; History, mannerisms, and looks, especially Edwards from Bella's point of view. The relationship that grows between the two is sickeningly cute and was enjoyable to a point. But as you read on, you might start to wonder, how old they are. Given Edward is a vampire and has lived over a hundred years or so, Bella is barely a senior in high school. And that I think is where I stopped being engulfed by the story and start nit picking at it. The passage of time is a little hard to grasp so you can't really tell how long they have been dating when they devote themselves to each other "forever" vocally.
As for a plot, there really wasn't one. Maybe it was Bella's struggle to overcome that fact that Edward was a stellar looking, sparkles in the sun vampire? But then again, that took about two high school class periods. About three fourths of the ways in you get a sniff of a little confrontation and even a uneventful car chase scene. And just when you think "now this is what I was waiting for", twilight brings a screeching halt to that bus and gets right back into what the rest of the book gave you. More Edward and Bella dribble.
What to take away from all this: If you like your young adult romance novels, its not a bad book. Especially since it is the first book in this series of four. So maybe Meyer can spend less time with the development of the two main characters and focus a bit more on the others. I will probably pick up the 2nd in the series with the hope that this will come true.
