Ugh. Insulting and trite. October 17, 2008 ManderW (England) 0 out of 3 found this review helpful
Fortunately, I checked this out from the library instead of spending money on it. I couldn't even manage to read it, let alone figure out what they were trying to suggest. I found the constant insulting analogies extremely off-putting. Really, if you're trying to encourage people to lose weight and let go of the all-or-nothing beliefs that lead many people to give up after the first slip, then you should reconsider slipping an insult into every other sentence. Absolute junk. Send your copy straight to the recycle bin.
For those who need to know "why" October 11, 2008 Meegeloo This is an excellent book for those who need to know why we should not eat certain foods. It is a convincing argument for healthful eating without making one feel you are on the D word.
So true October 9, 2008 Clara (Eugene, Oregon) The book by Dr. Oz, "You on a Diet" was a real eye-opener! Lots of very good and timely advice AND explanations for the advice as well.
Basic Information, Amazing Results! October 9, 2008 Schnugoose (St. Louis, MO) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I purchased this book 7 weeks and 22 1/2 pounds ago! It does say many things that are pretty basic for a weight loss book (exercise, eat your veggies, etc.). The thing that worked so well for me was that it explained exactly WHY these things are good for your body and what happens when you don't do them. I haven't much followed the menu planner, just stuck to the guidelines of lean meats (mostly chicken and fish), fruits and veggies, low fat dairy, and whole grains. This combined with walking at least 30 minutes a day has transformed my body! I feel fantastic! If you are still on the fence check out their website www.realage.com for more details.
I loved it October 8, 2008 Joe Albertson (Michigan) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
