Not a diet book, a fun book January 14, 2008 mkrhon (RI) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
I bought this book for my husband for Christmas. He had been dieting and counting calories. I wouldn't call this a diet book and you certainly won't loose weight by eating in these fast food places and restaurants. However, this is a great book to make you aware of what's out there and what the calorie potential is on your choices. It's also a lot of fun to browse through.
Finally, All The Right Foods In One Place January 14, 2008 Michael Z www.TheWisdomoftheRooms.com (Woodland Hills, CA USA) 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
This is the book I always wanted! I used to love when Consumer Reports would put out their food specials and guides, and now I can get those and so much more in one place. Who knew that Chinese food was the worse fast food you could eat? Even sauteed vegetables have almost 2000 milligrams of salt! This book provides the alternatives. Thank You! Learn how to eat right January 13, 2008 Janlynn (Sussex, WI United States) 3 out of 4 found this review helpful
This is a great book. It helps you make better for you choices no matter where you go, and hints on choices when you dine at reataurants other than those listed in the book. It's great, get it!
This book is an eye opener January 12, 2008 Robert G Yokoyama (Mililani, Hawaii) 10 out of 13 found this review helpful
This book is an eye opener about what is healthy and not healthy to eat and drink. I learned a lot from reading this book. I love food, and I want to eat healthy and that attractted me to Eat This Not That. I learned that a pina colada has more sugar than a bloody mary. I also found out that grape juice has much more sugar than orange juice. I was surprised to learn that spinach contains folate. Folate can improve a person's sexual functioning. Tomatoes, oates and carrots are super foods that can prevent various forms of cancer and heart disease. I also learned that blueberries can improve a person's memory and cardiovascular health. I enjoy eating out, but I will be more cautious of my dining choices at places like Outback Steak House, Macaroni Grill and Chili's. They have a lot of meals with high fat and high sodium that people are not aware of. I love to eat the cheese fries at Outback Steakhouse, but I was surprised to learn that it has 2,900 calories and 182 grams of fat. The pictures of food in this book made me hungry. I won't deprive myself of eating anything just because of this book, but I will definitely eat foods like fried chicken and ice cream in moderation.

Product was very informative. Also liked how easy it was to use as a reference tool.
