Essential reading for all women August 26, 2007 Lucy (Brisbane Australia) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
This is a well researched and well written book. Unlike many publications in this genre - it explains the science and provides the references for back-up. The book is easy to read - even for the non-scientific - and has a clear message for all women in this age of artifical hormones and petro-chemical pollution.
Find an oncologist who will read this book February 11, 2007 Kathy Maxwell (Pima, AZ USA) 5 out of 5 found this review helpful
My mother had a double mastectomy and radiation. This happened because estrogen dominance led to osteoporosis, and that led to Hormone Replacement Therapy (HRT). Now she's been sentenced to 5 years of Tamoxifen. She read this book twice and went to her oncologist with the information. The doctor wouldn't even listen to her. Dr. Lee's knowledge about estrogen dominance, HRT, and progesterone cream will ring true for many women with a predilection to breat cancer, with breast cancer, with any type of cancer, or with any of the multitude of estrogen dominant conditions (allergies, autoimmune disorders like lupus and Hashimoto's thyroiditis, decreased sex drive, depression, foggy thinking, migraines, miscarriages, PMS, and strokes just to name a few!). If you have breast cancer- my advice is to read this book and then take it to your oncologist. If he/she isn't open-minded enough to read it, find another doctor. It could save your life. Also, for all who are suffering through pre-menopause or menopause, I highly recommend Dr. Lee's other books: What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About PREmenopause: Balance Your Hormones and Your Life from Thirty to Fifty; What Your Doctor May Not Tell You About Menopause: The Breakthrough Book on Natural Hormone Balance.
Reader beware #2 March 27, 2006 Kimberly Henson (San Diego, CA) 12 out of 21 found this review helpful
My mother and father read this book and it enflamed them against the doctors who were trying to convince my mother that she needed to do something about her Stage II breast cancer. She was scared to death by what she read. Perhaps literally. While she was scared, her cancer progressed to Stage IIIC. We're not sure she's going to make it. She received three opinions regarding recommended treatment from some of the best hospitals/doctors in the U.S. Then the cancer spread to her breast bone area. She is finally following doctors orders, including chemo, and her tumors are shrinking. We pray it is not too late. I'm sure this book has some useful information, but my mother only showed me the scary bits--the things that made her wait. Too long? Who knows. Beware.
BOO! September 16, 2004 Bookgirl (Pacific) 30 out of 32 found this review helpful
This book will scare the bejesus out of ya, so make sure you're ready for the in-your-face reality this book offers. Are you ready to read about everything contributing to breast cancer from pesticides to plastic bottles? We're talking bug spray, plastic water bottles, beef, cow's milk + milk products, nail polish, polish remover, furniture, hair dryers, computers, and on and on. I was afraid to eat or touch anything for days! But the premise of this book isn't to scare but to educate you. While this book focuses on progesterone and diet to ward off or control breast cancer from spreading, it also slams current drug treatments and drug companies, along with mammograms. The information in this book is exactly the opposite of what your doctor will probably tell you. But are you willing to bet your life that your doc really knows what he or she is talking about and not just repeating the widespread word of rich and powerful drug companies or manufacturers of mammography equiptment? So if you're like me and have just recently found a lump in your breast, take some time to get used to the idea that you might have cancer. Then if you want to know the harsh reality about breast cancer, read this book. It might just save your life.
A book every loving husband must buy August 24, 2004 Gary Booth (Southern Californa) 14 out of 17 found this review helpful
If you love your wife and if you want her to be "All that she can be", then you must read this book. It will tell you what's going on with her and more importantly, if you can get her to read it, then you will have a healthy wife instead of one that slowly falls apart. Easy to understand and wonderful
