I would have given it no stars if I could have. This is so far from hip hop. The instructor uses the same moves. The instructor has a very annoying voice. The dancers were too over the top and to be honest this dvd bored me.
Fun, good ab workoutJune 29, 2008 K. Ayers(East Longmeadow, MA) This is a fun workout, and it provides results. Shaun T is a great motivator. If you like the first set, this will be for you. The cardio is longer, but just as much fun. Th ab video is a thiry minute standing ab workout, but you do get cardio also. Same with the total body burn, you are toning muscles and still getting great cardio. I highly recommend this.
Love it!June 24, 2008 Tara F. Berman(NJ) So glad that Shaun T came out with a level 2! I only pray he comes out with a level 3. I was never looking to lose a lot of weight, my goal was to just tighten up and become more toned. I'm someone that works out 5-6 days a week for an hour so I am someone that is already pretty physically fit, and i would def recommend this dvd. I definitely have seen improvements with my abs and this dvd definitely makes me sweat. It is so much harder than level 1. The dvd is also fun and you wont get bored at all. I look for fun and effectiveness when im shopping for exercise dvd's and this dvd is good for those looking to lose weight and its good for those looking to maintain their current weight. But if you havent tried level 1 definitely start with that, its lower impact and it helps teach you the basics that will be carried on through level 2.
replacement dvd cause i couldn't live without it!May 15, 2008 windey73(sc) i bought the series from beachbody and had to buy a replacement cause my original got ruined (sniff, sniff). fantastic video. shaun t is fun and energetic and always keeps me motivated to push harder. this is actually part of the second (month) series...and the whole hip hop abs works...living proof! i debated on whether to get the core rhythms or the hip hop abs series. glad i got the hip hop abs!

This is a good challenging workout, but the music leaves something to be desired -- it's redundant and unoriginal. Shaun T is funny and likeable, but his jokes and high energy presentation get a little stale after doing the workouts for the first couple of times. I purchased this dvd a couple of months ago and no longer do it for those reasons. I am more into kundalini yoga -- so it probably just wasn't a good fit for me.
