Shrink Your Female Fat Zones by Denise Austin August 16, 2008 Staci R. Mull 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love the first 20 minutes of this video. It's all toning using weights and exercises. The second 20 minutes uses a stability ball, which I don't have, so I don't use that portion of it.
All around good August 1, 2008 A. Matos (Austin, TX) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This 40 minute workout is solid. It's got exercise to work all the muscles in your body but I don't think it's for an advanced exerciser. When I first started working out I used this dvd and it was fabulous. I really saw results and I thought it was tough. Now a days, however, it's a little too easy for me. So if you want a really solid workout as a beginner or want something tried and true for an easier workout, this dvd is a great choice. I like it because it isn't separate 10 minute routines focusing on one body region. It's all integrated into one flowing routine which goes between arms, legs and abs. That is one thing I do like about this dvd. Sometimes you don't want to "target tone" you just want a great solid workout.
Could Cause Injury July 24, 2008 John Anglicus This video is good to break a sweat, but the lack of time spent showing proper form when setting up your body on the yoga ball could cause some serious injury. It is also not possible to always be watching the TV and maintaining proper form at the same time. This does not help the workout because Ms Austin moves quickly from one side to another and doesn't keep count or a specific beat for each motion. She also glides quickly over the warm-up leading into some strenuous exercise before the body is ready. This DVD/video also is not broken up into 2 distinct workouts (like it is said on the back cover). Instead, it has two parts intertwined without a warm-up/cool-down in between. As a 22 year old teacher, I was disappointed with this because I don't often have time for a full 40 minute workout. "Shirnk Your Female Fat Zones" would be a good purchase if you are already experienced with free weights and a balance ball, and don't have knee problems (squats are a huge part of her routine). Overall, I rate this workout a 2 out of 5.
Great workout June 4, 2008 G. Campos-Hensley 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is a great workout with a lot of tips to use. What I don't like is that her smile is very fake, her voice is weird and she doesn't cover posture, which extremely important.
Great workout! June 2, 2008 Nancy Bade (richmond, virginia) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love this video. It is easy to follow and the exercises aren't very difficult. I liked that you didn't have to have much coordination to follow along. It doesn't seem like it's doing much but after using it for several weeks, you start noticing clothes fitting better. The only bad thing is that Denise Austin gets a little annoying-too cheerleaderish-but you can always mute the sound.
