Awesome Show; DVD extras needed work November 3, 2008 Peacemaker Supernatural is one of the best shows on T.V; it is definitely the most addicting. It is well acted, written and directed and has some cool special effects. It is not a superficial show just for teens like most of the others on the CW. It has depth and intelligence, as well as incredibly hot stars! As for the season 3 DVD, it showcases all of that and is therefore very entertaining. However, because of the writer's strike, the season was short. Instead of making up for that with more extras, we got less: no full-episode commentaries, no commentary at all by Jensen Ackles or Jared Padelecki, no behind the scenes with the actors, and the gag reel seemed more mugging for the camera than goofs caught on tape. That said, anyone who's watched seasons 1 and 2, MUST watch season 3!!
Could be better October 31, 2008 Of The Nile (BrisVegas Australia) Don't get me wrong - I'm an avid fan. I love the story lines that The Krip develops, and I love the overall story arc. I'm confident that this will continue to be a "kick a$$" series. However, I was more than a little disappointed by the extras this season... I loved the introduction of the background pieces for some of the episodes. I also felt that while the Gag reel was necessarily shorter (less material with fewer episodes of high jinks to draw from), it still had some great content. I was also very pleased that "Bobby" received the necessary limelight. But when all was said and done, I didn't feel it was filled with the love that the first two season packs contained. Specifically... No Episode Narrations - I love those. The Impala piece was short and not a little clunky. Overall it just felt a little underdone. I'm assuming another affect of the shortened season. Now, despite my little moanfest, this is an awesome series, with fabulous cast and crew, with amazing fans. Each episode stands on its own and deserves absolute support (although I hope I never succumb to mind washed slave like devotion). I will continue to purchase each and every series, and no doubt continue to play them until they are unplayable and I need to purchase new sets. Just like the first two seasons. :)
And the stakes are higher than ever... October 30, 2008 Viva (So. Cal.) With the Winchesters' dad gone, they are truly on their own except for a friend or two. All they have is each other, though I wish I could count the Impala. Some spoilers may follow....... There is an even darker tone this season, if you can imagine that, with Dean having made a literal deal with the devil to save Sam by going to hell--which he absolutely does not deserve. There is constantly a sense of time running out, with Lilith doing awful things to our boys and to others, Dean doing some crazy things because he knows what's coming, and Sam looking at him with a blend of pity, fear, and heartbreak over his brother's horrific fate. I won't soon forget the last few minutes of this season's final episode, and I don't want to reveal them here. Since there is a season four, I can only hope that Sam finds a way to rescue Dean. On a lighter note, the gag reel is very funny, as they always are.
Supernaturally Awesome! October 24, 2008 edgar (Puerto Rico) For me this is the best of the Supernatural seasons so far. With less episodes but with a lot of demons, vampires, ghosts, humor and of course great special and visual effects compared with previous seasons. Really scary episodes with the introduction of new characters.
Supernatural October 23, 2008 J. Moore (North Carolina, USA) Love the show and the stars. Glad to have the DVDs so I can watch when ever I choose.
