Challenging, Fun and Simple January 14, 2001 Mark-Hans and Amy Richer (Rochester Hills, MI) The video was a gift from a friend, and it sat for awhile as life passed our family by. But when I actually played it, it caught my kids imagination right away, and it hasn't let up yet because of all the tricks they try to learn. What seemed like a simple concept (jump roping?) actually is very challenging physically, and the beauty of the simplicity is that any kid can pick up on it, and have fun trying to show their friends their new tricks as they learn them. The video is made very fun and engaging by the star, Erin Moore, who has a very friendly and fun attitude that kids can relate to, and the quirky visuals and soundtrack keep it from being boring. The additional benefit of the around the world footage is educational in and of itself ("Dad, where's that?" again and again. "Uh, I think that's China". "Where's that?" "It's in Asia". "Where's that?"...). I highly recommend this as a great way to encourage exercise for the kids without being preachy (and it's something you can do together). You'll be surprised how much of a workout it really is if your kids go crazy with it like mine.

A great way to get the kids interested in jump-roping! November 17, 2000 Siw Tatargil (Chicago, IL) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
Today our kids are overloaded with software games, game-boy and other expencive toys that keeps them busy for about five minutes. What happened to the games and toys we enjoyed when growing up? Well, I was so excited when I got my hands on this jump-rope video. The kids LOVED it, and wanted to become "hip-hoppers" right away. This is one week later, and they are jumping away learning all the tricks on the video. My 9 year old daughter is starting a new "hip-hop" trend at school, getting everyone interested in an "old-fashioned" play that even the parents can relate to. Thanks Erin.. my kids now prefers jumping over hanging in the couch with their game-boy!
