My favorite workout video April 23, 2002 7 out of 7 found this review helpful
I used this video about 10 years ago to get into the best shape I have ever been in. Somehow the video was lost and it made me crazy! I am working to get myself back in shape at age 41 after letting myself go for the past 5 years, and am so glad I found it here to help me! The best part is the floor workout for the abs, legs, and butt. I just skip past the aerobic part as I'm not wild about jumping around and get to the floor exercises. This is a classic. At first you'll have a hard time getting through the workout if you're not in very good shape and you'll be cussing at Jane, but when you get to working out regularly you'll love it.
What was the name of that video? April 20, 2002 I used a Jane Fonda aerobics video in the late 80's and LOVED it--it was just easy enough to follow and just challenging enough to make my heart race. But I haven't been able to find the tape and I can't remember its name... I distinctly remember that it contains a rock song with the cheesy lyrics "There's so much more to life than meets the eye." If you happen to know the name of the video, please post a response to let me know. Thanks!
Oldie But Goody March 23, 2002 keri (Sherman, IL USA) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I was born in 1985, and I can remember my mom using this video as a young child. I would try to follow along with her, even now I still use it. I know about every word in the whole movie because I have used it so many times, but I still love it! Not to mention, it keeps me in shape, staying lean and toned. This is a great video, and I recomend it to anyone who likes to have a great time while they excersize! -Keri
The days when a Workout was a "GOOD Workout!" March 9, 2002 Rizzo (Denver, CO) 30 out of 30 found this review helpful
Jane Fonda's early videos were made with quality; they were lengthy and featured a strenuous workout that many exercise leaders today skip. However, with a need to compete with exercising models, tv queens, and every Joe Blow making exercise videos, the quality of her later video workouts, too, declined. This 1985 90-minute tape features TWO workouts in ONE. The tape consists of a 35-minute BEGINNER'S with 12 minutes of aerobics. The 55 minute ADVANCED has 16 minutes of aerobics. You can choose to do this on alternate days if you are at the advanced stage. But the BEGINNER'S section is for beginners with at least some physical endurance or stamina. What I prefer on this tape is the inclusion of toning and stretching all body parts. The warm-ups include neck, shoulder, arm streching including toe raises, tenson stretches, and including stretching the waist. Usually the newer exercise gurus don't include extensive warmup streching that Fonda does. The floor work is tough, with leg lefts, that concentrate on toning the back and thighs. Stomach crunches are intense isolated movements that strengthen and tighten the hips and butt. Once you master this, try the most difficult late 70's Jane Fonda tape ever, "The Jane Fonda Challenge." I have never done anybody's tape that is more vigorous than this. If you are searching for quality workout tapes, stick with Jane Fonda EARLY tapes like this one, the "New Workout". You will work hard and you won't even notice the "leg warmers"......MzRizz
Very challenging October 16, 2001 I just got this video. I haven't done the workout yet, but I have previewed the video. It looks to be a very good workout for both the beginner and the advanced exerciser. I want to try it as soon as I can. I always like a good challenge, and I think I will get one with this workout.
