Wow, this is a book you don't want to stop reading.... September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Wow, this is a book you don't want to stop reading even to sleep. I bought all 4 in the saga and loved them all. Great book even for adults. Keeps your attention.
Awsome, definately a page turner September 3, 2008 I originally bought this book for my teen, she convinced me to read the series and I have to admit that I have really enjoyed them. My teen has been wanting to read romance but my Nora Roberts were not a choice for her. I am very pleased that these books have kept it clean and fun to read at the same time.
Twilight book - hardcover September 3, 2008 The book itself was in good shape, but the slip cover was folded in the wrong place, so it sat on the book incorrectly.
entertaining enough September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I walked into the bookstore and they had Twilight saga books EVEYWHERE. There really seemed to be a buzz about this book. The store was about to close and I wanted to pick up a book. I just grabbed it without thinking and began reading as soon as I got home. I finished the book in 1 weekend (which is pretty fast, being so busy w/3 kids, a business, full time job etc.). Honestly, since the book was on display in the middle of the bookstore, I didn't realize it was Young Adult book until sometime into the first chapter. With all the hype the book wasn't as excellent as I thought it would be. Then again, I was expecting an adult's book. I expected something a bit darker and edgier. There were a few chapters that seemed to drag, and the book lacked twists in story lines. It's a bit predictable. But i actually enjoyed the book. The love and affection that Edward and Bella have for each other is very sweet and endearing. It's refreshing. It's a light read and enjoyable enough. Like watching a tv series, I feel like I want to watch the next episode -I'm buying book 2 tonight.
30 and LOVED IT! September 3, 2008 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I kept wondering "what the heck is the Twilight hooplah all about?" Everywhere I looked I kept hearing about this book, the series, the upcomming movie and Stephanie Meyer. One of my good friends online, who has similiar reading tastes, finished reading Twilight a few months back so I decided to read the book before the movie was released. I had an Amazon gift card and figured "why not get it, it's not like you paid for it." Yesterday, I purchased the remaining 3 books before finishing Twilight, which I completed last night. I am a 30 years old African American who found Twilight simply AMAZING! I absoutely loved the story, the characters, but most importanty the emotional connection between Edward and Bella often made me lose my breath. I appreciate the fact that the series is geared towards young adults and deals with heavy emotions that do not automatically become sexual. I cannot tell you how many times Edward's character moved me, made me breathless, or swoon with just a few simple words. I thought the book was well-written for its age group but can be more apprecciated by adults at the same time. In a nutshell, I am debating about waiting for my Amzaon order or just going out and buying New Moon today becuase I cannot wait for the shipment!! Everyone is entitiled to their own opinions, but in my opinion Twilight is right up there with the Harry Potter series and I am so glad I did NOT listen to others reviews and simply read the book for myself.
