Im all about healthier options when eating in, as well as, eating out at restaurants.
Definitely Eat This and Not That January 20, 2008 Gary S. Yonchak (NE Ohio) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
Purchased the book after seeing a review of it on national news TV show. Upon receiving it, I was "shocked and awed" at the information contained; obviously I have been eating very badly over my lifetime. The food and menu breakdowns were somewhat scary in that it made me realize the copious amounts of salt, sugar, and starches I have been consuming. I am now more aware of what I am buying, and avoiding those foods and restaurants that could do me harm, and have actually greatly modified my diet to include all of the "good" foods. Book is well written, easy to follow, and actually makes sense. You can take it with you on your next trip to your local grocery store, or with you when you dine out and want to "know" what you are really being served. Well done !
Great Book January 19, 2008 J. Franklin (Nashville, TN USA) This is great. It is fun and full of information. My entire family read it. Wish it was longer.
WOW, the truth be told!!! January 19, 2008 S. Cicero (Tullahoma, Tn United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Finally, It's nice to have some idea how many calories we're consuming when we go out to eat. It's easy to believe we're "being good" but this book opens ones eyes and exposes the hidden calories the restaurants don't tell us about.
Take This With You When Eating Out January 19, 2008 ridge runner (Tennessee) A great asset for making wise instead of harmful choices for diabetics and others needing nutritional guidance. For the time you just need to find alternatives to the high fat and cholesterol selections so lavishly described on the menu, this is it!
