Defy Aging With Simple Wrinkle Reducing Tips
Formation of wrinkles is a problem that occurs as people grow old. This problem is further aggravated by excessive or unprotected exposure to the sun. In order to understand why wrinkles occur in the first place it is important to have basic knowledge of the skin.
Collagen Depletion Causes Formation Of Wrinkles
Our skin consists of the upper epidermis and the dermis which lies below. Below the dermis lies a framework of skin tissues and fibers called collagen and elastin. These fibers are responsible for the firmness and elasticity of the skin.
The epidermis of the skin endures the detrimental effects of external factors like pollution and harmful UV rays of the sun. These cause the surface skin to become dull. However the collagen and elastin layer below the skin’s surface help to repair the dead skin cells and replace them with healthy and new skin cells.
Age is one of the main reasons for the formation of wrinkles. With age the collagen and elastin tissues begin to degenerate so they cannot carry out the repairing process effectively.
