Wii MotionPlus

Wii MotionPlus

Simple. Intuitive. Easy to use. Connect the Wii MotionPlus™ accessory to your Wii Remote™ controller to increase accuracy and enhance play control on compatible games. Look on the back of Wii Game Disc packaging to see which games are specially designed for use with Wii MotionPlus. Wii MotionPlus contains additional sensors that make the Wii Remote respond to the slightest movement, motion, or twist of the wrist. Wii MotionPlus must be used with a Wii Remote, which is sold separately. When used with specially designed games, Wii MotionPlus tracks players’ movements in finer detail and with greater accuracy than ever before, building upon the innovative wireless function of the motion-sensing Wii Remote™ controller. Even the slightest twist of the wrist or turn of the body is replicated exactly on the TV screen, allowing users to become even more immersed in Wii game play. Designed for easy attachment to the Wii Remote controller which is sold separately.

User Ratings and Reviews

4 Stars Review It’s required for some of the new wii games. Not amazingly sensitive though. Will see if more supported games coming up. Not impressed by 2 new tennis games supported motionplus.

4 Stars Great…except for the price Like most people that own a Wii, I have continued to purchase each accessory and little gimmick that Nintendo keeps selling. We have four Wii remotes, two nunchucks, and now two of the Wii motion pluses. This latest accessory is great for the new games like Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 and Wii Sports Resort and makes the Wii feel like what it was intended to be. The downside is that most new games will require this accessory (e.g. Wii Sports Resort) and so you’ll probably purchase this at some point in your Wii’s lifetime. With the Wii Motion Plus, you won’t be wildly flailing your arms, like we’ve all done at some point, just to get the game to properly sense what you’re doing. I only gave this four stars because it’s another $20 you have to put in for each one you want. After purchasing all of these fun gadgets for the Wii, I must admit that the price tag on the Xbox 360 or PS3 doesn’t seem so bad anymore.

5 Stars Great Addition to wii games. I love how sensitive the wiimote+ is now, I can do a lot of moves that the old wiimote can’t detect. The downside to that is you need to readjust the way you play a lot of games, because it feels different once you hook up the mote+ attachment. For $20 this is the best addition to wii yet.

5 Stars Works great Okay, first off, if you are going to compare this with playing the real sport…stop! It’s a video game and that’s how it plays like. So say "I play tennis and it’s nothing like the real thing" Duh! For those of you complaining about the calibration on sword fighting, I have noticed it too, but not as bad as you make it out to be. It works well and yes I did too have to calibrate after sometime, but I only had to do that on the sword fighting, the other 11 games seemed to work great. And for those people that said that this should have come free with Wii or with the game. Please…does Nintendo owe you free stuff when they come out with it? No, if you want it…buy it, if not, then don’t. Simple. They are a business to make money and that is what they are going to do…and you know what, they are doing a great job of it too. Lastly, for the few that said it’s not the easiest thing to put on and take off. It’s not that hard. Much easier then putting it in and taking it out of the guitar for Guitar Hero.

For everyone else, go ahead and buy this with a game that can utilize the extra control and you will have fun. It’s well worth the $

3 Stars The Price of Power Okay, got one in Wii Sports Resort and bought an extra two for everyone else (eventually getting another one for the last Wii-mote). In case you were wondering, yes, it does come with the longer jacket for the wii-mote. In fact, the Wii motionplus is attached to the longer jacket and it comes with instructions on how to attach it properly. The connection on the Wii motionplus to the wii-mote feels flimsy, but it’s supposed to feel that way — it’s NOT broken!

What it does is provide more information to whatever game you’re playing about the position of the wii-mote. This enables you to be more in control and play games more realistically. However, very few games support it right now and it saps your batteries twice as fast, but it’s generally worth it. Let’s just say that if Nintendo comes out with an "improved" Wii MotionPlus in 6 months to a year, I’m going to be riotous, but not surprised.

I suggest you get Wii Charge Station Quad or Wii Charge Station or some rechargeable batteries if you haven’t already because the price for power gets even higher with the Wii MotionPlus.
