Wild Cards that affect Aging

As a communities population ages there are stereotypical diseases and problems that arise.  But those problems and issues can be alleviated when people approach healthy aging for older adults.  With the help and support of adequate amounts of nutrition, sleep, water and mental health older adults can age gracefully without some of the health and emotional issues that often plague this particular group of people.

Running Indoors has Advantages

Treadmills have many advantages over real running and walking. Sure, you don’t get to go outdoors in the nature, but you can also avoid bad weather and all the other hazards that come with going out of your house, such as cars and passers-by. It’s much more relaxing to not have to keep your mind and one eye on the potential problems, and just concentrate on your running.

Grief & Loss

Have you ever lost someone close to you to death? We go through a grief process that was best described by Elizabeth Kublar-Ross in On Death and Dying. In it she talks about the five stages that people go through—denial and isolation; anger; bargaining; depression and finally acceptance. The dying, as well as those who love them, go through these stages although rarely at the same time and these stages are not predictable.
